Canada Gazette

The Canada Gazette is the official bulletin of the Government of Canada. It publishes acts of Parliament, regulations, government notices and public notices from private sector bodies. Since 1 April 2003, the pdf version of the Canada Gazette has had the same official status as the print edition. The website, which is in French and English, provides access to the Gazette from 1998 onwards. Users can subscribe to an RSS feed.

Harvard Environmental Law Review

Website for the Harvard Environmental Law Review, (ISSN 0147-8257), published biannually since 1976, and edited by students at the Harvard Law School, aided by an advisory board of lawyers and academics. The journal publishes articles on a broad range of environmental affairs, including land use; air, water and noise regulation; toxic substances control; radiation control; energy use; workspace pollution; science and technology control; and resource use and regulation.

Council of European Energy Regulators

Website of the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER). The site has organisational information and details of members. Publications including papers, newsletters and factsheets are made freely available on the site. National reports include information from the national regulatory authorities from each EU country. Information on the preparation of framework guidelines for gas and electricity is also given.

Danish Civil Aviation Administration

Statens LuftfartsvÁsen, the Danish Civil Aviation Administration is the government organisation responsible for aviation regulation in Denmark, the Faeroe Islands and Greenland. This website outlines the organisation's responsibilities as regulator and gives an overview of its vision and organisation. There is an area giving access to Danish air law and regulations, including links to international organisations concerned with establishing international aviation standards.

Advertising Standards Authority Inc. New Zealand

The website of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) offers detailed information about self-regulatory principles and practice for the advertising industry in New Zealand. The site gives full-text access to "the Codes" as developed by the ASA, each code relating to a specific area of advertising activity. There is also a section on procedures to be followed when making a complaint to the Advertising Standards Complaints Board. Full text decisions made by the Board from 2000 onwards can be searched and browsed on the site.

Advertising Standards Canada

The website of Advertising Standards Canada (ASC) is an online information resource aimed at the advertising industry in Canada. Committed to advertising self-regulation by the industry, the ASC seeks to provide information for its members within the context of the ASC's Canadian Code of Advertising Standards. The site gives an overview of the organisation's mission and activities in this area. There is a section devoted to advertising standards, including procedures for submitting complaints for consumers and special interest groups.

Implementation of the Basel Core Principles for Effective Banking Supervision, Experiences, Influences, and Perspectives

Online document prepared by staff at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2002 and made freely available on the IMF website. The document is concerned with the Core Principles for Effective Banking Supervision (BCP) which were introduced by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) in 1997. This paper reviews the experience of the IMF and the World Bank who have conducted BCP compliance assessments in 60 countries. The paper looks at developments in the financial markets and in banking supervision. The document is presented in PDF format.

Basel Committee on Banking Supervision

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) is a committee of the Bank for International Settlements concerned with banking supervision issues. Members include officials from central banks who have responsibility for the supervision of banking business such as the Bank of England and the Financial Services Authority. The site provides access to publications of the BCBS including the Compendium of Basel Committee documents, a compilation of guidelines and standards set down by the Committee.

European Aviation Safety Agency

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is a regulatory agency of the European Union whose role is to maintain and improve aviation safety in Europe. The website explains the EASA's structure and functions and gives information about its activities in the fields of rulemaking, certification, maintenance, environmental protection, Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) and procurement. EASA documentation is available, including Opinions and Decisions. The site also has proceedings from Management Board meetings.

Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator

Website of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), an independent registrar and regulator responsible for the regulation of charities in Scotland, and part of the Scottish Administration. . The Scottish Charity Register can be searched by charity name, number or address. A framework document provides further information on the OSCR 's status, management and financial arrangements and this can be viewed in PDF on the site. There is also a selection of FAQs and a page of relevant Web links.
