Investment Treaty Arbitration

The Investment Treaty Arbitration website is aimed at legal practitioners, academics, government officials, researchers and anyone interested in international investment law. The resource is compiled by Andrew Newcombe who is Associate Professor, Faculty of Law at the University of Victoria in Canada. Details of investment treaty awards back to 1996 can be searched or browsed by date, claimant or respondent state. There are links to investment treaties and other investment instruments. Links to resources providing details of other investment awards and cases are also given.

Judicial Committee of the Privy Council

The Judicial Committee of the Privy Council is the highest court of appeal for the UK’s overseas territories and crown dependencies, and for certain Commonwealth countries. Its website provides a description of the Committee’s work, together with biographies of the justices, practice directions, rules and forms. Judgments are available from November 2009 onwards (earlier judgments are on the Privy Council Office website and BAILII) and summaries of pending cases are also provided.

Cyprus Law Reports

The decisions of the Supreme Court of Cyprus are available on this site from 1976 to 2003, as published in the Cyprus Law Reports. The interface and many of the older reports are in English, but from about 1990 onwards the reports are in Greek. The resource is provided free by technology company NetVeil Ltd, as a demonstration of their capabilities.

Company Names Tribunal

The Company Names Tribunal is a UK public body that deals with cases where a name appears to have been registered in order to extract money or to prevent another party from registering it. Its website provides decisions and orders of the Tribunal, forms, procedural information and announcements.

Indian Kanoon

Kanoon is a free legal search engine providing access to Indian laws, court judgments and tribunal judgments. Kanoon has been developed by computer scientist Sushant Sinha. The site contains over 1.4 million laws along with judgements from the Supreme Court of India, 24 high courts and 17 law tribunals. Also provided are Constitutent Assembly debates and Law Commission reports.

LexML Brasil

LexML Brasil is a Brazilian legal and legislative information portal providing free access to legal materials made available by a number of executive, legislative and judicial bodies including the Office of the Federal Solicitor General (AGU), the Office of the General Prosecutor, the House of Representatives and the National Justice Board among others. Brazilian legislation and case law can be searched and viewed in Portuguese only.

UK Human Rights Blog

The UK Human Rights Blog is produced by 1 Crown Office Row, a barristers' chambers specialising in civil law. It aims to provide a free legal news service covering human rights issues. There is a link to European Convention on Human Rights along with a description and analysis of each article. Posts can be searched or browsed by subject, including, immigration, children, terrorism, public order and human rights cases.

Legal Information Institute of India

The Legal Information Institute of India (LIIofIndia) was launched in March 2011. It is a collaborative project involving several Indian law schools, assisted by the Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII). The LII of India provides free access to Indian legislation (including the 1836 Indian Code and some state legislation); Indian case law (Supreme Court, most High Courts and tribunals); treaties; Law Commission reports; and legal journals.
