Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic

Website for the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic. Information available in English on the site includes: a description of the composition, organisation, procedures, powers and nature and effect of judgments of the Court; list of Justices; Court contact details; collection of cases with selected judgments from 1992-1996 in case number order; and collection of legal materials including the act on the Constitutional Court, Charter of fundamental rights and basic freedoms, and Parliament of the Czech Republic.

Bundesverwaltungsgericht

The website of the German Federal Administrative Court provides general information on the history, functions and procedure of the Court, including a table of allocation of business among its several chambers (Senates). It is now based in Leipzig. Press releases, giving summaries of individual decisions, are available in full-text from 1997. Access to these is by year and number (roughly chronological), with links from an entry in the table to the text itself. There is a page of links to the other German federal courts, and the administrative courts of the Länder.

Bundesgerichtshof

The German Supreme Court (Bundesgerichtshof) web pages give information, in German, on the jurisdiction, structure and activities of the Court. They are hosted by the University of Karlsruhe. There is a description of the allocation of different types of cases among the several chambers (Senates), current lists of the judges of the Court and lawyers working in the Court, an historical list of presidents of the Court, a description of the Library, and copies of the Court's annual reports and judicial statistics since 1996.

Judicial Service of Ghana

Official website of the Ghanaian judicial service, the organisation with responsibility for the administration of justice in Ghana. The site provides a guide to and history of the Ghanaian legal system and the courts. There are lists of key post holders and judicial figures dating back to the nineteenth century and details of members of the Judicial Council. A full-text copy of the Constitution can be viewed on the site along with acts and regulations relating to the Ghanaian courts.

Judicial Appointments Commission

Website of the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC), an independent non-departmental public body set up in 2005 to select candidates for judicial office. The site has information about the role and history of the Commission and biographical details of the Commissioners. Publications relating to the work of the JAC are available on the site including a business plan and a framework document. There are speeches, news items and details of events. A page describing the selection process is also provided on the site.

Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute

Website of the Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute (CJEI) based at the Dalhousie Law School in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The CJEI forms a network of Commonwealth judicial education bodies providing judicial education programmes and teaching tools. The site provides information on patrons and recent as well as upcoming events organised by the CJEI. A selection of in-house newsletters, bulletins and speeches are made freely available in PDF format.

Rules and Policies

This page forms part of the United States Courts website and makes available rules of practice, procedure and evidence currently in use in the federal courts. There are full-text copies of rules, background information on the rulemaking process, proposed and past amendments and minutes of relevant committee meetings such as the Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure and the Advisory Committee on Rules of Civil Procedure.

Judicial Conference of Australia

Website of the Judicial Conference of Australia (JCA) an organisation that draws its membership from judges and magistrates in Australia. The JCA is concerned with education and research relating to the judiciary and the quality and accessibility of the judicial system. The site has information on the Executive Committee and Governing Council of the JCA along with news items and details of annual colloquia. Details of publications are also provided including a full text (PDF) copy of a guide to sentencing in Australia.

Judicial Commission of New South Wales

Website of the independent Judicial Commission of New South Wales, a statutory body whose functions include reviewing sentencing practice, providing judicial training and examining complaints against judicial officers. The site has information about the Judicial Commission and details of members and principle officers. The Commission produce a series of studies on particular aspects of sentencing policy in NSW.

Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs Canada

Website of the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs (OCFJA) the Canadian body whose role is to provide administrative support to the federal judiciary and safeguard its independence. The Commissioner is also responsible for the administration of federal judicial appointments and the site includes information and guidance on the appointments process. There is background information on the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal along with law reports which are made available in either full-text or digest form.
