European Free Trade Association Court

Official site for the European Free Trade Association Court. The EFTA operates under the Stockholm Convention in the day-to-day management of the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) and the coordination and development of trade agreements with third countries. The Court fulfils the judicial function within EFTA and has jurisdiction with regard to EFTA States which are parties to the European Economic Area Agreement (currently Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Norway).

United States Court of International Trade

Official website for the US Court of International Trade, aiming to provide public access to information about the Court, the history of its development and its current activities as a constituent and significant part of the federal judicial system providing corrective justice in the area of international trade litigation. The site publishes USCIT slip opinions for 1999 onwards which can be viewed in full text PDF. Rules and forms of the Court and profiles of the judges are also made available on the site.

Statistik Austria

Statistik Österreich, now called Statistik Austria, became an independent body in January 2000. Its remit is to disseminate national statistics in an impartial manner. Profiles cover economic, demographic, social, ecological and cultural aspects of Austria. Some information can be downloaded in PDF or Excel format, but it is not all freely available. It is also possible to search for Statistik Austria's publications by subject. All texts are in German. The English version of the site contains a limited amount of information.

Lex Mercatoria

A gateway to web resources for international commercial law, with some additional coverage of other areas of law and of information technology. The service is a collaborative project by the Law Faculty of the University of Tromso, Norway, the Institute of International Commercial Law at Pace University School of Law, US, and the Law Faculty of the University of Oslo, Norway. Lex Mercatoria presents links to conventions, model laws, rules, commentary and other documents available on the web.

Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA)

COMESA is an inter-governmental body encouraging economic cooperation between countries in East and South Africa. Member states include: Angola, Burundi, Comoros, D.R.Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sudan, Swaziland, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. European Free Trade Association - (EFTA)

EFTA was founded in 1960 with the purpose of removing trade barriers between its member nations. Currently these are Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The website provides information on the EFTA Secretariat, EFTA Surveillance Authority and EFTA Court. The Secretariat section includes information on the purpose and structure of EFTA as well as its annual reports and recent press releases. Also accessible are the Stockholm Convention and fact sheets on the relationship between EFTA and the European Economic Area (EEA).

GATT digital library: 1947-1994

The GATT Digital Library is a joint project of Stanford University Libraries and Academic Information Resources (SULAIR) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). The library provides access to documents and information of and about the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) including reports, studies and meeting records. Documents can be browsed by issuing body or searched using a simple keyword search or advanced search option. Documents have bibliographic records and can be viewed in full-text (PDF).

East African Community

The East African Community is an intergovernmental regional organisation which seeks to promote social, economic and political cooperation between the African nations of Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and Kenya. Its website provides information on the aims of the organisation, its members and current activities. It provides free access to recent press releases, communiques, annual reports, full-text treaties and other documents. Topics covered include free trade and fiscal policies in Africa, economic aid, health policy, democratic and political development.
