Genocide Watch

Genocide Watch is a non-governmental organisation which campaigns against genocide. Its website includes news items, the text of the Genocide Convention, background information about genocide and analysis of areas where genocide is happening or is at risk of developing. A current project is focusing on the Cambodian Genocide; a section of the website is devoted to this.

United Nations Assistance to the Khmer Rouge Trials

United Nations Assistance to the Khmer Rouge Trials (UNARKT) represents the involvement of the international community in the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC), which was established to try members of the Khmer Rouge for genocide and crimes against humanity. Its website provides information about UNARKT's aims, activities and jurisdictions. It includes press releases, UN resolutions and mandates, court documents, annual reports and financial statements. Materials are available from 2003 onwards.

Trial International

Trial International is an organisation, based in Switzerland, whose aim is to "fight against impunity for the perpetrators accomplices and instigators of genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and acts of torture." Trial International are involved with cases concerning these types of crimes and there is background information and news stories relating to these cases. The organisation's reports can be downloaded in full and there are profiles of the countries Trial International works with. The site is available in English and French.

Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia for the Prosecution of Crimes Committed during the Period of Democratic Kampuchea

The Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia was established by the Cambodian government with the assistance of the UN to serve as an independent body for trying former members of the Khmer Rouge for serious crimes (genocide and human rights abuses) committed during the Khmer Rouge regime 1975-1979. Its website provides information about the role of the Extraordinary Chambers makes available court proceedings, court rules and other legal documents, together with speeches, news articles and photographic images of the hearings.

International Association of Genocide Scholars

Website of the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) an interdisciplinary, research organisation whose central aim is to "draw academics, activists, artists, genocide survivors, journalists, jurists, public policy makers, and other colleagues into the interdisciplinary study of genocide, with the goal of prevention." The site has details of conferences and other events and a downloadable newsletter. There is information on the IAGS journal, Genocide Studies and Prevention, and other books and publications on genocide.

Hague Justice Portal

The Hague Justice Portal is maintained by the Hague Academic Coalition, a consortium of academic institutions. The Portal provides news stories, factsheets, and research papers relating to the work of the Hague institutions, courts and tribunals, including the International Criminal Court; International Court of Justice, International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia; Iran-United States Claims Tribunal; Permanent Court of Arbitration; Special Court for Sierra Leone.
