United Kingdom Employment Appeal Tribunal

A BAILII database containing Full Hearing judgments of the Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) which are transcribed or handed down by the Tribunal. The EAT deals with appeals from the decisions of the Employment Tribunals, the Certification Officer and the Central Arbitration Committee Employment Appeal Tribunal. Its jurisdiction extends to England and Wales and Scotland. The database contains judgments from 1976 to date. Cases are listed alphabetically by party name and chronologically by year. The system also offers a comprehensive search facility and Recent Cases listing.

Dog Law

Website covering different aspects of the law relating to dogs in England and Wales. The site is produced by specialist solicitors Cooper & Co. It provides information and guidance about the law relating to dogs, as well as details of seminars for lawyers and dog owners.

War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Tribunal

Website of the First-tier Tribunal (War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation) which hears appeals relating to the schemes that provide compensation for injuries in the Armed Forces and from ex¹servicemen or women who have had their claims for a War Pension rejected by the Secretary of State for Defence. The site has forms and guidance to download explaining how to claim a war pension and how to appeal against decisions.

Junior Lawyers Division

The Junior Lawers Division (JLD) is a Law Society group for LPC students, LPC graduates, trainee solicitors and solicitors who have been working for up to five years since they qualified. Its area of the Law Society website has feature articles, advice, news and information about training and networking opportunities. The JLD replaced the Young Solicitors Group and the Trainee Solicitors Group in 2008.

Charity Commission guidance

The Charity Commission for England and Wales provides information about running small charities in this section of its website. It has operational guidance which includes an overview of the law and model forms, letters and declarations. There is a selection of information sheets which look at winding up a small charity, permanent endowment and disposing of land.

CrimeLine

CrimeLine is a subscription-based e-journal founded by Andrew Keogh, formerly of Keogh's Solicitors. Intended for criminal lawyers, it features legal news, recent cases, new legislation and training material. Most of the content is for subscribers only, but freely-available material includes job advertisements, links to key criminal law statutes and a database of UK legislation on all topics (linking to legislation.gov.uk for the text of each instrument).

Commercial Bar Association

London-based organisation for barristers who work in the field of commercial law, particularly those working with the international business sector. The website provides details of services offered by commercial barristers and a directory of COMBAR members. News and event information is also available. There are details of scholarships offered and a section covering careers at the commercial bar.

Honourable Society of the Middle Temple

Middle Temple is one of the four Inns of Court, colleges of barristers which have the authority to call people to the Bar in England and Wales. Its website has information for students, covering the organisation of the Bar, becoming a barrister, admission to the Inn, courses (including continuing education for new practitioners), scholarships and awards. There are also details of the history of Middle Temple, banqueting facilities, library and archive services and events.

Criminal Bar Association

Website of the Criminal Bar Association (CBA), a body which represents the views of criminal barristers in England and Wales. The site includes information about membership, news, responses to consultations and a podcast. It also provides details of events and lectures held by the organisation and recent reports of the CBA working parties. Some content is restricted to CBA members.
