Proceedings of the Old Bailey: 1674 to 1913

Free online version of the Proceedings of the Old Bailey (London's Central Criminal Court), produced by the Open University and the Universities of Hertfordshire and Sheffield. Covers historical and legal background to trials at the Old Bailey as well as the accounts of criminal trials held there from 1674 to 1913 (when publication of the Proceedings ceased). Full text accounts are provided in HTML as well as digital images of the original reports and pictures from legal materials of the time. The Proceedings can be searched by keyword, name, date, crime and verdict and punishment.

Fraud Advisory Panel

Website of the Fraud Advisory Panel which was set up in 1998 by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. The Panel's role is to "alert the nation to the immense social and economic damage caused by fraud and help both public and private sectors to fight back". Work is conducted through the Panel's four working groups: Investigation, Prosecution and Law Reform; Education, Events and Training and Cybercrime.

Center for the Study of Democracy

The Center for the Study of Democracy is an independent, interdisciplinary institute which aims to foster democracy and reform in Bulgaria. Its website includes links to current projects, publications, and papers (some in Bulgarian, some in English), covering Law, Europe, Economy, Judicial Reform, Corporate Governance, and Book Donation. There is a section about Vitosha Research, which covers the market, social, political, advertising and media issues. There is also a 'News and Events' section, covering current activities of the centre, and a section profiling centre staff.

Transcrime

Transcrime, the Research Centre on Transnational Crime, is based in the Department of Law at the University of Trento in Italy.  Its website gives an overview of the Centre's projects. The Publications page provides some titles in full and others with abstracts only. The site, including the publications, is in both English and Italian.

Vera Institute of Justice

The website of the Vera Institute of Justice is an online information resource offering information about the Institute's activities in the field of criminal justice. Its scope is international, though its head office is based in New York. The Institute works with government officials in New York as well as those in other countries and the site describes these working relationships. The site gives details of the many projects the Institute supports dealing with immigration and justice, youth justice, policing, sentencing and corrections and the judicial process.

Western Society of Criminology

The website for the Western Society of Criminology (WSC) is an online information resource detailing the Society's membership and scope. It aims to provide criminology scholars, students, government officials and practitioners with a forum for exchanging ideas and learning about new research in the field of criminology. The site gives information about its annual meeting, including a call for papers and participants. It provides full text access to the Society's newsletter, The Western Criminologist and to its offical journal, The Western Criminology Review.

Critical Criminology

Critical Criminology is an international peer-reviewed journal published by Springer on behalf of special interest sections of the American Society of Criminology and the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. The journal offers postcolonial, anarchist, feminist, Marxist, cultural, integrative, peace-making, postmodernist, queer, indigenous, southern and green perspectives on criminology. It is partly open access.

Scottish Association for the Study of Offending

Website of the Scottish Association for the Study of Offending (SASO) a forum for "professional groups and individuals concerned with the issues raised by offending in Scotland". The site provides organisational details of the SASO Council, branches throughout Scotland, local conferences and membership information. There are full text (PDF) copies of the Associationãs journal the Scottish Journal of Criminal Justice Studies made freely available online back to 2003.
