The Guide to Law Online, developed by the Law Library of Congress in the US, is a global directory of websites concerned with law and government. It focuses on sites of interest to legal researchers and provides links and some annotations. The guide is arranged by jurisdiction under four main headings: International, US Federal, US States and Territories and Nations (of the world - Afghanistan to Zimbabwe).
The Foreign and International Law Web is produced by the Washburn University School of Law Library. It provides links to web-based foreign and international legal resources and research aids.
The Electronic Journal of Comparative Law (ISSN 1387-3091) is a full-text web-based journal developed in 1997 by Innovatie Wetenschappelijke Informatievoorziening (IWI), the Dutch platform for innovation of the supply of scientific information and sponsored by the law faculties of Maastricht, Tilburg and Utrecht universities in the Netherlands. The journal presents original articles, review articles, book reviews, correspondence, comments and discussion on a wide range of legal issues. Website for the Edinburgh Law Review (ISSN 1364-9809, electronic ISSN 1755-1692), published three times a year by the University of Edinburgh. The Review aims to establish an international forum for the discussion of law in all its aspects by the publication of high-quality original academic writing. There is a particular focus on Scots law and the Scottish legal system, in an international context. The Review also includes a section devoted to analysis of recent developments such as new or proposed legislation and court decisions.
Website for Tulane Law Review, a print journal founded in 1916 as the Southern Law Quarterly. The Review is published six times annually and is a student-run, student-edited legal periodical. Articles concentrate on civil law, comparative law and admiralty law, discussing a wide range of business, constitutional, environmental and maritime law matters from a US perspective. The Review has a sizeable international circulation and is one of few American law reviews on the select list of minimum holdings for law libraries in the United Kingdom.
The Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law is published by the Tulane University School of Law, Louisiana, US. The civil law jurisdiction in the state of Louisiana provides a basis for informed comparative discussions of similar systems internationally. The website offers the Journal's contents pages from spring 2004 onwards.
The Max-Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law is a research institute carrying out research in the following areas: public international law; comparative constitutional and administrative law; international environmental law; European constitutional law and administrative law. The site has information on the history and organisation of the Institute, staff and trustees and publication details. There is a link to the library's OPAC and links to other research schools of the Max Planck Institute. The site can be viewed in English and German.
The World Law Bulletin is published monthly by the Directorate of Legal Research at the Law Library of Congress and is distributed to members of the United States Congress. The online version is made freely available on the Federation of American Scientists (FAS) website as part of their Project on Government Secrecy. Issues are available in full-text (PDF) from 2000 to March 2006. After this date the bulletin becomes the Global Legal Monitor which is described separately on Intute. The bulletin provides news items on foreign law developments including links to original sources.
Online resource guide to researching comparative law written by Paul Norman who was senior reference librarian at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London from 1970 to 2006. The guide was published in 2006 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School at the New York University School of Law. The guide has been updated in 2021 by Hester Swift who is Foreign and International Law Librarian at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies.
