Rutgers Journal Of Law and Religion

The Rutgers Journal Of Law and Religion is produced by law students at Rutgers University School of Law (in New Jersey) and made freely available on their website. The aim of the RJLR is "to explore how law impacts different religions, and reciprocally, how various religions impact the law". The journal is published twice a year with articles presented in full-text in PDF. The journal started in 1999 and recent articles examine issues such as the death penalty, ecclesiastical courts and religious institutions.

Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law

Website of the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law a non-profit organisation which is based in Illinois in the United States. The Center carries out legal and policy research and provides legal services to low-income clients. The site has information about the Center's work which includes community investment, housing and advocacy. The Center produces various newsletters which are made freely available on the website and articles which are posted in HTML format.

Brennan Center for Justice

The Brennan Center for Justice is based at the New York University, School of Law. The Center was established in 1995 in honour of Supreme Court Justice William Brennan and carries out education, research and litigation in the areas of "democracy, poverty and criminal justice". There are details of programmes being run at the Brennan Center. Resources include a blog, commentary on current issues, a clearinghouse of Brennan Center court cases and litigation, e-alerts, press releases and publications.

National Senior Citizens Law Center

Website of the National Senior Citizens Law Center (NSCLC) an advocacy, litigation and training group based in Washington DC working on behalf of low income elderly and disabled people. The site has background information on key issues and cases the NSCLC is involved with covering the areas of federal rights, Medicaid, long-term care and income security. Each section has articles, news items, cases and case commentaries. NSCLC also publish a range of consumer publications on Medicare and nursing homes, details of which are given on the site.

Pretrial Justice Institute

The Pretrial Justice Institute is a Washington DC based, non-profit organisation providing information, publications and training on pretrial issues to US criminal justice practitioners. The website provides details of projects the PJI is involved with and reports and surveys the Institute has produced. Reports are presented in a range of formats and cover subjects such as youth justice, pretrial drug testing and the "three strikes" legislation.

Child Labor Coalition

Child Labor Coalition is an American website which provides educational materials about children working in agriculture. It explains why many children work in agriculture and why it is so often unhealthy, socially isolating or harmful. Using some emotive descriptions, it describes what life is like for many of these children. It gives a good definition of what is child labour and what is not.

Association of Corporate Counsel

The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) is the in-house bar association representing attorneys who practice in corporate legal departments. The ACC was established in 1982 and draws its membership from lawyers working in 40 countries around the world. Free information includes a selection of online surveys, statistics and polls dealing with issues affecting in-house counsel and materials on multijurisdictional practice whereby US lawyers can practice in states other than the one in which they are licensed.

CorporateProBono.org

Website of CorporateProBono.org (CPBO) which is produced jointly by the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Pro Bono Institute at the Georgetown University Law Center (PBI). The purpose of the initiative is to increase the amount of pro bono work carried out by corporate counsel. The website keeps in-house counsel informed about volunteer opportunities and provides free access to pro bono resources, news items, a directory of mentors and pro bono projects. The CPBO resource library can be searched or browsed.

Crimes Against Children Research Center

Website of the Crimes Against Children Research Center (CCRC) which is based at the University of New Hampshire in the United States. The aim of the CCRC is to "combat crimes against children by providing high quality research and statistics to the public, policy makers, law enforcement personnel, and other child welfare practitioners". The site has profiles of researchers, details of publications and links to related websites.
