Information Law and Policy Centre
Website of the Information Law and Policy Centre (ILPC) which is based at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (part of the School of Advanced Study, University of London). The aim of the ILPC is to "undertake, promote, and facilitate, cross-disciplinary scholarship and research in the area of information law and policy, domestically and internationally". The Centre produces reports, articles and regular newsletters which are available on the site.
European Air Law Association (EALA)
The European Air Law Association (EALA) is a membership body concerned with the study and development of air law in Europe. Members are drawn from academics, industry professionals (airlines, aerospace manufacturers etc.) and national and EU officials. EALA holds regular conferences and seminars focusing on issues relating to all aspects of the air transport sector. Information on events and details of committee members are provided on the site.
Mental Health Law Online
Mental Health Online is a free portal website providing an internet resource on mental health law, and mental capacity law, for England & Wales. The site provides links to case law, legislation and general information on mental health; as well as producing an Annual Review which contains all news items, arranged thematically, which were added to the website during that year
The Lancet
The Lancet publishes a weekly journal and nine monthly specialty journals in the fields of global health, diabetes and endocrinology, oncology, haematology, neurology, psychiatry, respiratory medicine, infectious diseases and HIV. TheLancet.com website publishes important journal content online ahead of print publication. All journal content and summaries can be browsed in their Clinical and Global Health portals and by specialty disciplines. There is open access to some of the articles but by registering for free, a range of selected articles can be viewed.
The Kerr/Haslam Inquiry Report
The report of the Kerr/Haslam Inquiry, which was concerned with how NHS services in Yorkshire dealt with concerns raised about two consultant psychiatrists, Dr William Kerr and Mr Michael Haslam, who were involved in the sexual abuse of psychiatric patients. The Inquiry’s report was published in July 2005 and is available here on the Gov.UK website, the website for the UK government.
Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine
The FFLM is a UK charity set up to develop and maintain the highest possible standards of competence and professional integrity in forensic and legal medicine. The FFLM covers professionals working in three related disciplines: forensic medical practitioners (forensic physicians, forensic pathologists, sexual assault examiners, and child physical and sexual assault examiners, forensic nurses and paramedics); medico-legal advisers; and medically qualified coroners. The website provides free access to some of the FFLM publications as well as providing information on news and events.
Legal aid and access to justice
Collection of legal aid materials for solicitors, provided by the Law Society of England and Wales. Consists of Law Society guidance, practice notes, policy documents and press releases.
Entertainment and Sports Law Journal
Open-access e-journal produced by the University of Westminster covering entertainment, media, licensing and sports law. The Journal is available from volume 1, 2002, onwards.
Alcohol licensing
Information about alcohol licensing, provided by the Home Office on the UK government website. Explains the licensing regime and how to apply for a licence; provides links to forms, notices, guidance and other information. Also covers the hearings held when doubts have been raised about the grant of a particular licence.
