United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute

Website of the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute(UNICRI) established by the UN in1968 and based in Italy. The purpose of UNICRI is to strengthen UN initiatives on preventing criminality and juvenile delinquency. The site presents information on the Institute, its objectives and governing body and on its activities in the following areas: supporting judicial reform and promoting the rule of law: security and counter terrorism and human trafficking.

International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy

Founded in 1909 and based in Italy, the Association links academics from many countries with an interest in philosophy of law. The site contains background and organisational information about the IVR including full text copies of the IVR's constitution and procedural rules. There is information on IVR conferences and contact details of the national sections. The site hosts archives in English of the twice-yearly IVR Newsletter, including conference reports and announcements.

International Institute for the Unification of Private Law

Website of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), an independent intergovernmental organisation based in Rome. The site presents information on the work of UNIDROIT and makes available the texts of its model laws and conventions (with status information). UNIDROIT proceedings and papers are provided from 1994 onwards and there is a searchable and browsable index to the organisation's journal, Uniform Law Review, from 1974 onwards.

Historical Archives of the European Union

Website of the Historical Archives of the European Union, which is based at the European University Institute in Italy. It consists substantially of bibliographic references to official documents produced by the major EU/EC institutions, including: the European Economic Community, the European Coal and Steel Community, the European Atomic Energy Community, the Council of Ministers, the European Commission and the European Parliament. Despite its name, however, it also covers archives relating to non-EU/EC bodies and archives acquired from individuals.

Academy of European Law

The Academy of European Law was established by the European University Institute (EUI) in 1990 to promote teaching and scholarship in the fields of European Union Law and Human Rights Law. It holds annual advanced-level courses on these subjects and publishes the content as Collected Courses of the Academy of European Law. European University Institute

The European University Institute was founded in 1972 by the European Community Member States to provide advanced academic and cultural training on a European basis. Its website offers information on the purpose of the Institute and details of its ongoing research. The site provides free access to the EUI publications repository, Cadmus, which contains bibliographic details of books, articles and theses and full text content of EUI working papers.

ITTIG: Databases

This page on the ITTIG (Institute of Legal Information Theory and Techniques) website provides information about and links to the various legal databases maintained by ITTIG. Most of the databases are bibliographic and cover articles from legal journals, disability law, information technology law, environmental law and bibliographies on various legal topics. Some of the databases are no longer updated. Free registration is required to access some of the resources. The site can be viewed in Italian and English.
