The site provides all the conventions and agreements prepared and negotiated within the institutional framework of the CoE, together with summaries and explanatory reports. It gives information on the preparation and legal status of treaties and the treaty-making process and provides a glossary.

Web pages of the Gazette du Palais, the French law journal and current awareness service for the legal profession in France. The printed Gazette has been in publication since 1881. Features of the website include the "fonds documentaire", the "s?lection gazette", and the "copies d'arr?ts". To gain full access, a subscription is needed. The site is in French throughout.

This section of the UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization) website focuses on conventions for the protection of cultural heritage, including non-UNESCO conventions. Full-text treaties and their protocols; drafts; preparatory working documents from committees and diplomatic conferences; and information about state signatories are provided. Information is also available about current activities and forthcoming events. The site is in English, French and Spanish. Links to related websites are provided.

ARDHIS - Association de Reconnaissance des Droits des personnes Homosexuelles et transsexuelles à l'Immigration et au Séjour

ARDHIS is a French-based association which was founded in 1998 and campaigns for equal immigration rights for gay, lesbian and transsexual people. Its website provides information on the purpose of the body and its history, plus a small amount of legal information. The site is entirely in French.

Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Europe

The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Europe is an institution of the Council of Europe. Its website provides details on its functions and recent programmes. It also contains a collection of documents, including the Congress's statutory texts, charters and conventions, minutes of plenary sessions, timetables of forthcoming meetings and the Congress's yearbook. The site is in English or French.

Dispute Resolution Services: ICC: International Chamber of Commerce

Dispute resolution section of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) website. Provides information about the ICC International Court of Arbitration and other ICC dispute resolution services, covering costs, rules, model clauses and other topics. The Professional Development section has a link to the ICC Dispute Resolution Library (however, this is easier to find from library.iccwbo.org). The Dispute Resolution Library is partly fee-based, but has a free facility for looking up ICC awards to find out where they have been published.

Council of Europe (ETS No.126) - European Convention for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment

The full-text of the Convention that "provides for the setting up of an international committee empowered to visit all places where persons are deprived of their liberty by a public authority. The committee, composed of independent experts, may make recommendations and suggest improvements in order to strengthen, if necessary, the protection of persons visited from torture and from inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly

The Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly is composed of representatives from the parliaments of the member nations. Its website contains information on the history and work of the Parliamentary Assembly, including monitoring of elections. Press releases are available and also the text of the Parliamentary Assembly's newsletter "The Europeans" from issue 1, 1997 onwards. Information is also provided on Committee meetings with timetables and the list of adopted texts from 1996. The information is available in English or French.
