SCRIPT-ed

The SCRIPT-ed journal is published online by the AHRC Research Centre for Studies in Intellectual Property and Technology Law which is based in the School of Law at the University of Edinburgh. The journal is published quarterly and focuses on law and technology issues providing peer reviewed articles, analysis and book reviews. Articles are available back to 2004. They can be viewed in full-text in a range of formats.

First-tier Tribunal (Care Standards)

Website of the First-tier Tribunal (Care Standards) which was established under the Protection of Children Act 1999. This tribunal considers appeals relating to decisions regarding the suitability of individuals to work with children, the registration of care homes, children's homes and adoption and fostering agencies and the registration of childminders and day care providers. The site provides links to the regulations under which the Tribunal operates and to legislation under which appeals may be brought.

UK Copyright Service

The UK Copyright Service (UKCS) is a global intellectual property registration service based in the UK. The site has an online copyright registration facility. It also provides information on copyright registration, UK copyright law and the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, and factsheets on topics such as copyright notices, music copyright and copyright in scientific papers. 

Solicitors for the Elderly

Solicitors for the Elderly is an association of lawyers who are committed to "providing and promoting robust, comprehensive and independent legal advice for older people, their family and carers". The website provides background information about the association including a copy of their code of practice and a guide to the specialisms held by members. These include areas such as estate planning, probate, tax planning, long-term care insurance policies, home equity release plans, mental health legislation and pensions.

London Shipping Law Centre

Website of the London Shipping Law Centre which was set up in 1994 at University College London by Dr. Aleka Mandaraka-Sheppard who is Director of postgraduate shipping law studies for the University of London. The Centre was created as a "community place for the sectors of the maritime industry and students in order to further their interests and learn from each other". The site includes information about events and courses held at the Centre along with a selection of speeches which are made freely available on the site in full-text.

Binary Law

Binary Law is the blog of Nick Holmes, a legal publishing consultant. It started in February 2004 and focuses on legal information and digital publishing issues; subjects covered include intellectual property, information management, internet law, blogging and social media. There are links to other law blogs, to the Internet Newsletter for Lawyers and to Infolaw, a UK legal web gateway.

Woolley & Co Solicitors

Website of Woolley & Co a United Kingdom based firm of solicitors specialising in divorce law. As well as information relating to Woolley & Co's legal services the site provides access to freely available advice and information relating to the divorce process. Subjects covered include children and child maintenance, matrimonial assets, legal aid, advice for UK citizens living abroad, unmarried couples, civil partnerships and domestic violence. The site also includes links to relevant organisations, documentation and articles along with a divorce flow chart.

The IBA International Anti-Money Laundering Forum: the Lawyer's Guide to Legislation and Compliance

This International Bar Association (IBA) website is a discussion forum and source of information for lawyers working in the anti-money laundering field. It provides an introduction to the subject of anti-money laundering, together with outlines of anti-money laundering regimes worldwide. There is an implementation chart for the EU's Third Money Laundering Directive (2005/60/EC) and another chart shows which countries of the world have anti-money laundering legislation applying to lawyers. The Reading Room section provides articles, news, book reviews and other information.

LITIG

LITIG (Legal IT & Innovators Group) is a not-for-profit group for professionals working in all areas of legal information technology in the UK. The site gives an overview of current projects and details of LITIG membership, news and events. There is an AI page which includes the Litig AI Transparency Charter, a glossary of AI terms and a collection of resources including benchmarks, evaluation frameworks, a due diligence questionnaire and regulatory material.

Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber)

The Tribunal's jurisdiction includes rating appeals, land compensation, taxation appeals concerning land and blight notice references. The website has information about the Tribunal, including a link to a database of decisions and a list of appeals from the Lands Chamber to the Court of Appeal. An online guide explains the role of the Tribunal along with a copy of the Lands Tribunal Rules 1996 and the Practice Directions. Statutory forms are presented in PDF format.
