Scottish Competition Law Forum

The Scottish Competition Law Forum (SCLF) is an online discussion site whose aim is to encourage debate on competition law and policy in Scotland. The SCLF was established by Gordon Downie a partner in commercial law firm, Shepherd and Wedderburn. Users of the site are required to register before they can post or reply to messages.

Scottish Land Court

The Scottish Land Court is based in Edinburgh and deals with farming and agricultural tenancy disputes. The site provides historical information about the court and links to legislation establishing the court's jurisdiction. There is information on making an application to the court and the appropriate forms are available to download. Details of hearings, court fees and rules and practice notices are also given.

Scottish Law Commission

Website of the Scottish Law Commission whose role is to "recommend reforms to improve, simplify and update the law of Scotland". The site has profiles of the Commissioners, details of the Commission's work and current law reform projects. Details of discussion papers, reports and consultation papers produced by the Commission from 1966 to the present are given on the site with the more recent documents made available in full-text. There is a site search engine and a page of links to other sites concerned with law reform.

SCRIPT-ed

The SCRIPT-ed journal is published online by the AHRC Research Centre for Studies in Intellectual Property and Technology Law which is based in the School of Law at the University of Edinburgh. The journal is published quarterly and focuses on law and technology issues providing peer reviewed articles, analysis and book reviews. Articles are available back to 2004. They can be viewed in full-text in a range of formats.

Society of Writers to Her Majesty's Signet

Website of the Society of Writers to Her Majesty's Signet (WS Society), a society of Scottish solicitors based in Edinburgh. The site has information about the WS Society including its history and details of staff and committees. There is also information regarding the Society's professional education programmes and seminars for solicitors, the Signet Library which is open to non-members and Scottish legal news.

Education Law Unit

The Education Law Unit is an initiative of the Govan Law Centre, an independent, charitable community controlled law centre in Scotland. The Unit can provide legal representation in education law cases and the website has information on education law in Scotland for anyone who advises children with special educational needs or their parents. There are links to education law news stories and full text cases the Govan Law Centre has been involved with.

Scottish Law Commission Reports

A BAILII database carrying reports published by the Scottish Law Commission. Reports are available from 1989 onwards and are presented in HTML format. The reports are listed alphabetically by title and chronologically by year. Recent topics covered include damages for wrongful death, personal injury actions and crown appeals. BAILII is a free, collaborative service aiming to provide public access to primary legal materials for the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. The service has been developed through cooperation between AustLII and parties in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

A BAILII database providing access to discussion papers published by the Scottish Law Commission. The service carries papers in HTML format from 1993 onwards. Papers are listed alphabetically by title and chronologically by year. Recent topics covered include double jeopardy, unincorporated associations abd crown appeals. BAILII is a free collaborative service offering public access to primary legal materials for the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. BAILII has been developed through cooperation between AustLII and parties in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator

Website of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), an independent registrar and regulator responsible for the regulation of charities in Scotland, and part of the Scottish Administration. . The Scottish Charity Register can be searched by charity name, number or address. A framework document provides further information on the OSCR 's status, management and financial arrangements and this can be viewed in PDF on the site. There is also a selection of FAQs and a page of relevant Web links.
