International Water Law Project

The website of the International Water Law Project (IWLP) is produced by Gabriel Eckstein who is Professor of Law at the Texas Tech University School of Law in the United States. The site provides access to documents, case law, a bibliography, a list of water law experts and a page of web links to water related legal resources. Case law is compiled from the Permanent Court of International Justice and the International Court of Justice with some cases made available in full. World Water News gives summaries and links to full-text news stories relating to water issues going back to 2000.

International Water Law Bibliography

An online bibliography of international water law resources compiled by Gabriel Eckstein who is Professor of Law at the Texas Tech University School of Law in the United States and made freely available on his International Water Law Project website. The bibliography is divided up by subject including Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, Latin America, pollution, ethics, groundwater and economics. There are also headings for United Nations and World Bank materials and for statistics.

Environmental Management and Law Association (EMLA)

The website of the Hungarian Environmental Management and Law Association (EMLA). EMLA is active in raising public awareness and participation, providing legal advice and representation, developing environmental NGO networks and environmental consulting. The website has information on the history, structure and activities of EMLA, and details of how to join the organisation. Information for researchers on joint projects, internships and use of the EMLA library is provided. Brief details of specific programmes and case summaries are also available, as are copies of EMLA's annual reports.

Public Justice

Washington DC-based non-profit law firm, founded in 1982 and formerly known as Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. Public Justice brings cases to counter abuses of corporate power, the undermining of civil rights/civil liberties and threats to the environment. Its website has details of its work, including a list of cases, with legal briefs and opinions (judgments) attached. A podcast and a blog are available and there is a sign-up form for the Public Justice newsletter.

Environmental Defense Fund

The Environmental Defense Fund is an American non-profit organisation which uses science, economics and law to tackle threats to the environment and sustainability in the United States, Europe and elsewhere. Its website gives an overview of its work and provides its publications, which include reports, guides, interactive maps and tools intended for governments, corporations and the public.

Commission for Environmental Co-operation

The Commission for Environmental Co-operation (CEC) is an international organisation created by Canada, Mexico and the United States under the North American Agreement on Environmental Co-operation (NAAEC), in order to address regional environmental concerns. The website provides general information about the Commission and its projects. The Publications and Information section includes detailed summaries of the environmental laws of Canada, Mexico and the US.

Environmental Law Foundation

The Environmental Law Foundation (ELF) is a national UK charity which links communities and individuals to legal and technical experts who can provide advice and information on how the law can help resolve environmental problems. ELF was established in 1992 and consists of a network of environmental solicitors, barristers, consultants and academics, who provide free initial advice and assistance and then, if required, further support on either a free, at cost or reduced-fee rate.

Queensland Planning and Environmental Court decisions

An AustLII database, containing full-text decisions in HTML format from the Planning and Environment Court of Queensland from 1999 onwards. The system offers a comprehensive search facility and browsing by case name and date. AustLII, the Australasian Legal Information Institute has been developed by the University of Technology in Sydney to provide free public access to primary legal materials. Materials contained in the database are selected and provided by the Court.

Resource Management and Planning Appeal Tribunal of Tasmania Decisions

An AustLII database containing selected full-text HTML decisions from the Resource Management and Planning Appeal Tribunal of Tasmania from 1996 onwards supported by case name search facilities, alphabetical browse index, and list of recent cases. Data is selected and supplied by the Tribunal. AustLII, the Australasian Legal Information Institute is a collaborative public service developed by the University of Technology to provide free Internet access to legislation and cases for Australia.

Environmental Resources and Development Court of South Australia Decisions

An AustLII database containing selected full-text HTML decisions from the Environmental Resources and Development Court of South Australia from 1996 onwards. Cases can be searched or browsed by case name or date. Data is selected and supplied by the Court.
