The Australian Journal of Asian Law is a joint initiative of the Asian Law Centre at the University of Melbourne, the Law Faculty of the Australian National University and the School of Law at the University of Washington. It is published 3 times a year and includes articles, book reviews and case notes. The Foundation's main areas of interest are governance, law, civil society, economic reform and development, international relations and women's political participation. The website gives information about the programmes it funds, news of its activities and events and a list of its publications, many of which are freely available online.
An online journal developed by the William S. Richardson Law School at the University of Hawaii at Monoa. The journal is published twice a year and is available from the inaugural edition, February 2000, onwards. It focuses on a range of jurisdictions, including China, Japan, Korea, the United States and the Pacific and Southeast Asian regions generally.
Website of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), a non-profit organisation established in 1991. Gives an overview of SIAC's services, procedures and charges. It also provides profiles of selected SIAC cases, statistics, SIAC's arbitration rules and model arbitration clauses. There is also a guide to the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, together with various IBA arbitration guides. The Singapore Arbitrator newsletter is available free, from September 2004 onwards, and there is an online bookshop.
The Asia Pacific Judicial Reform Forum (APJRF) is a network of superior courts and justice sector agencies seeking judicial reform in the region. Its website provides details of meetings, workshops, projects and other events. Currently the APJRF is developing a Judicial Reform Handbook; draft chapters of the handbook are available on the site. A discussion forum and list of member courts and organisations, with links to websites where available, are also provided.
Website of the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Law Association, a non-governmental professional organisation which brings together members of the legal profession in ASEAN countries. The site provides historical and organisational information about the ALA. Publications and speeches of members from the various countries can be freely downloaded.
The US-Asia Law Institute is based at New York University School of Law. The site includes details of current research programmes, with links to articles.
The Asia Legal Information Network (ALIN) was set up by the Korea Legislation Research Institute (KLRI) in 2003 as a voluntary network of governmental, academic and research organisations willing to provide access to legal information and resources managed by each of them. ALIN offers a small collection of articles, laws, regulations and conference papers. Some resources are restricted to members only.
Website of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), an NGO that seeks to promote intellectual property protection in the Asian region (including Australia and New Zealand). The site provides a newsletter and gives details of APAA committees and regional groups, a history of the organisation, and details of conferences and meetings.
