Website of the Historic Archives section of the United Nations Audiovisual Library of International Law. The Library is a free online multimedia resource of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs. The Historic Archives collection focuses on key legal instruments covering a wide range of international law topics including criminal law, disarmament, environmental law, human rights, international economic law, law of outer space and the law of the sea. The major conventions and treaties for each subject are listed and can be viewed in full text along with documentary and audiovisual materials. These include an introduction to the instrument, details of its procedural history and related documents. Video and audio recordings and photographs relating to the negotiation and adoption of the instrument at meetings or diplomatic conferences are also provided. Users will need to download the free RealPlayer software to access the audio and video materials. Other sections of the Library include a collection of video lectures and and links to international law resources.
