A commentary and bibliographic resource guide focusing on Ukrainian law, legal materials and research. The guide was published in 2008 (and updated in 2021) on the Globalex Website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The guide was written by Myroslava Kryvonos, a librarian at the Legal Library of the Ukrainian Legal Foundation in Kyiv and Alexander Biryukov who is Associate Professor of Law at the Institute of International Law of Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University and the updated version by Nazar Chernyavsky and Yuliia Brusko. The authors look particularly at the sources and division of state power, sources of law and legal subject areas including administrative, criminal, competition, financial, intellectual property and civil law. There is also information on the Ukrainian legislative system, legal education and the legal status of Crimea. This is an updated version of a guide published in 2002 on LLRX.com (Law Library Resource Xchange) the free online web journal for legal information professionals. Additional sections on this guide include information on the legal profession and legal publishers in Ukraine. There is also an enhanced Web directory providing links to Ukrainian state agencies, business information sources and law clinics.
