Regulating the privatisation of war
Description:
Priv-War was a collaborative project by seven European academic institutions, coordinated by the European University Institute in Italy. It ran from 2008 to 2011 and the website is being maintained as an information source. The aim of Priv-War was to research the use of private military companies and security companies in situations of armed conflict and examine national and international regulatory frameworks. The website provides the final recommendations of the Priv-War project, reports on the national legislation of about 25 different countries (from Europe and elsewhere), working papers and workshop reports. There are also details of the two OUP volumes that published the project's research.
