Online guide to the Iranian legal system written by Omar Sial who is a partner in the Pakistan based law firm Hasan & Sial, Advocates and Corporate Counselors. The guide was published in March 2006 on the Globalex website and is made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. There is background information on the history and government of Iran and an outline of the roles of the Supreme Leader, the President, Parliament (The Majles), Assembly of Experts, the Council of Guardians and the Expediency Council. Links to these bodies are given where available. There is also information on the Constitution, the court system and the judiciary. The site provides an annotated list of links to legal websites giving access to Iranian legislation.
