The Lancet

The Lancet publishes a weekly journal and nine monthly specialty journals in the fields of global health, diabetes and endocrinology, oncology, haematology, neurology, psychiatry, respiratory medicine, infectious diseases and HIV. TheLancet.com website publishes important journal content online ahead of print publication. All journal content and summaries can be browsed in their Clinical and Global Health portals and by specialty disciplines. There is open access to some of the articles but by registering for free, a range of selected articles can be viewed.

Criminal Justice Matters

Criminal Justice Matters is a journal which aims to provide "information and informed opinion" on topical issues of interest relating to criminal justice. The journal is produced quarterly by ISTD: The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies, and published by Routledge. The Centre is a registered charity, which claims to be a non-partisan, non-campaigning body. This section is part of the Centre's site which is hosted on the King's College London server. Each issue explores a single theme in the field of criminology.

Journal of International Wildlife Law & Policy

Web pages of the Journal of International Wildlife Law & Policy, published by Taylor and Francis and produced in conjunction with the Whittier Law School, Los Angeles. The journal seeks to address the legal and political issues relating to humans' interrelationship with, and management of, wildlife, their habitats and the biosphere. Contents lists with abstracts are available from volume 1 (1998) to the current issue; from 2003 onwards it is also possible to buy individual articles or journal issues online.

Journal of Islamic Studies

Website of the Journal of Islamic Studies, an academic journal published by Oxford University Press on behalf of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. The journal is multi-disciplinary, covering all aspects of scholarship relating to Islam and the Islamic world, including law, geography, economics, anthropology, sociology, philosophy, international relations and environmental issues. Contents pages and abstracts are available free from 1996 onwards. There are basic and advanced search facilities and a table of contents email alerting service.

American Law and Economics Review

The journal 'American Law and Economics Review' was launched in 1999 by the American Law and Economics Association (ALEA). The Review is a refereed journal, published twice a year. It endeavours to publish international work that is accessible to the full range of membership in the ALEA, which includes practising lawyers, consulting economics and academic lawyers, and academic economists from around the world. The Review differs from other journals in the field in that it features book reviews and review essays.

METRO: Institute for Transnational Legal Research

Website for METRO, Maastricht University's Institute for Transnational Legal Research. Information is provided on the work and aims of the Institute with outlines of its interdisciplinary research programmes, covering matters such as human rights, women and law, constitutional law, and the legal aspects of business and enterprise. METRO specialises in transnational research dealing with issues of European and international integration and identifying common ground amongst the legal systems of European Union member states.

Computers and Law

Computers and Law is the official journal of the Society of Computers and Law and reflects the Society's aims of encouraging and developing information technology for lawyers and information technology related law. The journal is published bi-monthly and can be accessed on the Society's website. Full text is available to members only, but contents of most issues are available online. The site includes information on SCL membership; contacts for contributing articles; and advertising rates in the journal.

Howard Journal of Criminal Justice, The

The Howard Journal of Criminal Justice is published by Wiley (formerly by Blackwells) and is concerned with "all major aspects of the criminal justice process, penal policy and crime prevention". It is an interdisciplinary journal "combining articles with comments and reviews, providing a thorough coverage of both the theory and practice of criminal justice and the study of crime and criminals. Each issue includes a Penal Policy File summarising the latest developments in criminal justice policy."

Gazette du Palais

Web pages of the Gazette du Palais, the French law journal and current awareness service for the legal profession in France. The printed Gazette has been in publication since 1881. Features of the website include the "fonds documentaire", the "s?lection gazette", and the "copies d'arr?ts". To gain full access, a subscription is needed. The site is in French throughout.

University of New South Wales Law Journal

The University of New South Wales Law Journal has been published since 1976, edited by a voluntary student body with faculty advisers. The scholarly Australian academic law journal is published three times a year, and each volume consists of two general issues and one thematic issue. The general issues contain articles on a broad range of legal issues. There is also a Forum section for debate on topics of interest to the legal community. The thematic issues focus on particular legal topics researched and selected by the Board.
