Researching Uganda’s Legal System and Legal Sector

Online guide to Ugandan law written by lawyer Brenda Mahoro in 2006 and updated in 2024 by Ugandan lawyer Lydia Matte. Published on New York University's Globalex website, the guide has background information on government and Constitution of Uganda, an outline of the legal sector and a list of the key institutions concerned with the provision of legal services and the administration of justice. There are sections dealing with the courts and the judiciary, legislation, case law, legal education and the legal profession. Links are given to Ugandan law sites.

Norwegian law in foreign languages

Online bibliography of Norwegian law publications, by Kirsti Lothe Jacobsen and Elen Elvebakk, law librarians at the University of Bergen. The bibliography is on the University of Bergen website and focuses on books and articles in languages other than Norwegian. Click on 'Group Library' to browse by area of law and other topics. A search facility is available.

Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Bulgaria

Official website of the Bulgarian Supreme Administrative Court, which hears appeals against acts of the government, decisions of the Supreme Judicial Council and acts of the Bulgarian National Bank. Provides background and historical information about the court, a case database, and the Code of Civil Procedure, the Judiciary System Act, the Administrative Procedure Code and the court rules. The site is in Bulgarian only.

ASSER International Sports Law Centre

The ASSER International Sports Law Centre, part of the TMC Asser Institute in the Netherlands, carries out research and provides consultancy services, teaching and training. The research is interdisciplinary; in the field of law it embraces comparative law, public and private international law, EU law and international commercial arbitration. The website provides information on the work of the Centre, its staff, academic partners, events, conferences and publications.

Waitangi Tribunal

Official website of the Waitangi Tribunal, the permanent commission of inquiry established under New Zealand's Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975. The Tribunal hears claims relating to breaches of the treaty. The website provides the reports of the Tribunal on claims under the act and the text of the treaty in English and Maori. It also gives procedural guidance and makes available a collection of research reports.

Bank Negara Malaysia: Legislation

This section of the Central Bank of Malaysia's website provides Malaysian banking legislation. The available legislation includes the Central Bank of Malaysia Act 2009, the Financial Services Act 2013, the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013, the Insurance Act 1996 and the Currency Act 2020. The site also provides standards and guidelines and circulars covering banking, Islamic banking, payment systems, insurance and takaful, money services business and other topics. 

Human Law

Human Law (formerly Human Law Mediation) is the blog of UK solicitor and commercial mediator, Justin Patten. Established in 2002, it focuses on employment law and mediation and includes posts on subjects such as dispute resolution, litigation, workplace conflict and personal injury. Users may sign up to receive email updates.

International Judicial Monitor

International Judicial Monitor is an online journal produced by the International Judicial Academy in Washington D.C. and supported by the American Society of International Law. It focuses on international law and its primary target audience consists of those involved in judicial work, as well as other legal professionals. The publication has legal news stories, commentary, case law and book reviews. Other regular features include profiles of judges and background articles on courts and tribunals around the world.

Law Reform Commission of Tanzania

Official website of the Law Reform Commission of Tanzania whose role is to keep under review all aspects of the law in Tanzania. Gives historical information about the Commission, lists the Commissioners and provides position papers, reports, discussion papers and other publications. Also includes a collection of Tanzanian laws from 2004 to 2010. There are Kiswahili and English versions of the site, but much of the documentation provided is in English only.
