European Legal Studies Center

The European Legal Studies Center (ELSC) is based at Columbia Law School in the United States. It conducts teaching and research in the fields of European, international and comparative law. Industrial Arbitration Court

Website of the Industrial Arbitration Court of Singapore. Provides historical background information about the court and makes available its annual reports. There are details of the court's procedures, covering arbitration, certification of collective agreements and variation of collective agreements. The Resources section includes forms, a collective agreement checklist, a sample collective agreement, a list of forthcoming hearings, links to the Singapore Industrial Relations Act and Employment Act, and a database of awards from 2000 onwards.

American Immigration Lawyers Association

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is an organisation for attorneys and academics in the field of immigration law. Its website provides immigration news and AILA policy briefs, continuing legal education, information about AILA publications, including the AILA Journal, and videos. There is also a blog, Think Immigration, and a state-by-state guide to ethics and professional conduct for lawyers.

Lambda Legal

Lambda Legal is a US legal and educational advocacy organisation representing lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and people with HIV who are fighting discrimination. The site provides information relating to Lambda's work and background to legal issues concerning lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. There is also background information to key issues Lambda is concerned with including employment rights, marriage and family law, youth, HIV, rights of transgender people, fair and impartial courts and immigration.

Harvard Law and Policy Review

Website of the Harvard Law and Policy Review, the journal of the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy (ACS), run by students at Harvard Law School.T he whole series is available on an open access basis, 2007 onwards. The website also provides details of the editorial staff, the board of advisers and submissions policy.  The ACS is an educational organisation of lawyers, law students, scholars, judges and policymakers concerned with promoting progressive law and policy in the United States. 

Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law

Website of the Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law at Stanford University, a research centre founded in 2002 to conduct policy research and provide training to foster democracy and the rule of law in transitional countries and promote economic progress. The site has information on research programmes, publications, events and presentations. The publications section includes details of books, articles, occasional papers, working and discussion paper, many of which are freely available in full.

American Constitution Society for Law and Policy

The American Constitution Society for Law and Policy (ACS) is a non-profit, educational organisation of lawyers, law students, scholars, judges and policymakers concerned with promoting progressive law and policy in the United States. Its website includes organisational information and news and a blog, together with details of ACS research projects. Briefings, reports, articles and other publications are available; other resources include videos of ACS events.

International Rule of Law Directory

Global directory of organisations working to support the rule of law, compiled by the International Bar Association (IBA). Ten areas of activity are covered: administration of justice; alternative dispute resolution; assisting lawyers and human rights defenders; assisting law schools and universities; legal protection of human rights; assisting police and prison workers; assisting refugees and asylum seekers; financial assistance to uphold the rule of law; promoting law reform; and research. The Directory can be searched or browsed.

Canadian Superior Court Judges Association

Website of the Canadian Superior Court Judges Association (CSCJA), which represents judges of the superior courts and courts of appeal of federal Canada and the provinces and territories. Provides information about the Association and has a portal for members. Outlines the Canadian legal system for the general public and gives an overview of the role of the judge, how judges are selected and how they make decisions.
