Open Democracy Advice Centre

Website of the Open Democracy Advice Centre (ODAC) a joint initiative between the Institute for Democracy in South Africa (IDASA), the Black Sash Trust and the University of Cape Town Law Department. ODAC's aim is to promote freedom of information and government accountability, support whistleblowers and provide training and advice on the Protected Disclosures Act and the Promotion of Access to Information Act. The website provides full-text copies of the acts (in HTML) along with the regulations, forms and user guides.

Lehman, Lee and Xu

Website of Lehman, Lee and Xu a Chinese law firm established in 1992 with offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. The site has links to Chinese laws and regulations available in English. The laws are arranged by subject and cover areas such as banking, construction, criminal law, finance and trade. The site also has guides to the law in China in the form of FAQ's, a glossary of Chinese legal terms and a page of web links.

Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority

This is the official website of the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority responsible for the administration of electronic communications, railways and industrial safety in Estonia. The site has background information and documentation on the role of the Authority in each of these areas. Links are given to full text legislation grouped by subject including digital signatures, electronic communications, electrical safety, energy efficiency, mining safety and precious metals.

This is the official website of the Estonian Consumer Protection Board, responsible for the rights of consumers and their interests, and consumer policy in accordance with UN and EU consumer policy. The site features news and press releases, and an overview of consumers' rights and protection policy. In addition there is appropriate legislation including the Consumer Protection Act, the Food Act, and the Advertising Act. Also included are details of International Cooperation, and annual reports and statistics.

Estonian Centre for Standardisation and Accreditation

This is the official website of the Estonian Centre for Standardisation and Accreditation, responsible for standardisation in Estonia. The site includes the background and structure of the Board, as well as its legal basis and its functions and activities. Also included are details and statistics on standardisation, and reports on joint projects and technical committees. In addition there are reports on international agreements and the Board's participation in international projects. The site is available in Estonian, with some content in English.

Law Report

Law Report is a weekly programme produced by Radio National which is part of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). The programme is aimed at lawyers and the public focusing on current legal issues in Australia and across the world and covering subjects such as law reform, legal education and miscarriages of justice. The website provides transcripts of programmes which can be viewed in HTML and recent broadcasts can be heard using Windows Media Player or RealPlayer. Transcripts are listed chronologically and are available back to 1999.

Victoria Law Foundation

Website of the Victoria Law Foundation in Australia. The Foundation is an independent statutory body established by the Victorian Parliament to act as a 'creative interface' between the public, the government, the legal profession and community organisations. The site provides a selection of online books aimed at the public and the legal profession which are made freely available as PDF documents and cover topics such as jury service, pro bono and local laws.

Crime and Corruption Commission

The Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) in Queensland, Australia was formed in 2002 to "fight major crime and improve the integrity of the state public sector". The site includes a selection of full-text publications made freely available on the website as PDF documents. These include relevant legislation, research reports, speeches and conference papers and cover topics such as policing, criminal justice, youth, sexual offences and indigenous Australians.

World Anti-Doping Code

The World Anti-Doping Code is a worldwide standard for anti-doping regulations established by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and is made freely available on their website. The code was originally designed in 2004 to harmonise rules and regulations regarding doping in sport across all countries and sports. Through the Copenhagen Declaration on Anti-Doping in Sport, Governments have indicated their readiness to adopt the code. The code was updated in January 2009; further details regarding revisions are available on the site.

Association of Corporate Counsel

The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) is the in-house bar association representing attorneys who practice in corporate legal departments. The ACC was established in 1982 and draws its membership from lawyers working in 40 countries around the world. Free information includes a selection of online surveys, statistics and polls dealing with issues affecting in-house counsel and materials on multijurisdictional practice whereby US lawyers can practice in states other than the one in which they are licensed.
