Online guide to the legal system of Burkina Faso written by Sâ Benjamin Traoré who is Associate Professor of Law at the Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences and a Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Morocco. The guide was published in 2024 on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law.
Liberia’s Constitution of 1986
Electronic copy of the 1986 Constitution of Liberia made freely available online by the Comparative Constitutions Project at the University of Texas at Austin. There are chapters on the structure of the state, fundamental rights, legislative, executive and judicial powers and political parties and elections.
Constitution of Cameroon
Electronic copy of the 1972 Constitution of Cameroon, revised in 2008, and made freely available by the Comparative Constitutions Project at the University of Texas at Austin. There are chapters on the state and sovereignty, the executive, legislative and judicial powers, treaties and international agreements and the Constitutional Council.
Judicial Training Institute
The Judicial Training Institute (JTI) is a Ghanaian organisation providing training for judges, magistrates and judicial staff in Ghana. The JTI organises “programmes and activities to meet both the professional needs of individual members of the judiciary and the judicial service and the capacity-building needs of the judiciary and the judicial service as a whole”.
A Brief Overview of the Togolese Legal System
Online guide to Togo law written by Thérèse Donu who is an attorney at law at the Togo Bar Association and a founder of Therese Donu Law Firm. The guide was published in 2022 (and updated in 2025) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law.
National Judicial Institute
The National Judicial Institute (NJI) of Nigeria provides continuing education and training for members of the Nigerian judiciary. Selected conference and workshop papers are available in full on the site. These cover a range of topics including environmental and sanitation laws in Nigeria, the role of the magistrate’s court in protecting the rights of the child and women and property rights under customary law in Nigeria. Copies of the NJI Law Journal, speeches and details of future events are also given.
National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN)
Official website of the Nigerian Industrial Court which has jurisdiction over civil issues concerning labour, employment, trade unions, industrial relations and working conditions including health and safety. The site has profiles of NICN judges, court rules and a full text copy of the National Industrial Court Act 2006. Full text judgements of the court are also made available to download.
National Judicial Council
Website of the National Judicial Council (NJC) the body responsible for preserving the independence of the judiciary in Nigeria. The NJC makes recommendations to the President and state governors for senior judicial appointments and is responsible for disciplinary issues concerning judicial officers. Profiles of Council members are given on the site along with guidelines and procedural rules, press releases and a selection of FAQs.
