Ghana legal information institute

The Ghana Legal Information Institute (GhaLII) provides free access to Ghanaian legislation and court decisions and other legal material. The Legislation section includes current and repealed acts, plus subsidiary legislation. The Judgments section has cases from 1963 onwards, covering the Court of Appeal, High Court and Supreme Court of Ghana. GhaLII also includes the Ghana Gazette, Commercial and Industrial Bulletin, and Local Government Bulletin, African Union publications and ECOWAS material .

 

Constitution of the Côte d'Ivoire

Electronic copy of the 2016 Constitution of the Côte d'Ivoire made freely available by the Comparative Constitutions Project at the University of Texas at Austin. The Constitution is provided in PDF and has sections on the founding principles of the Republic, the functions of the executive, legislative and judicial powers, the Constitutional Council and the traditional chieftaincy. It also outlines the rights and responsibilities of the individual citizen. 

International IDEA

The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA) is an intergovernmental organisation promoting the growth of democracy worldwide. It is based in Sweden and has offices in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The website has background information its work and details of databases, networks and publications. Sections of the site cover work in the areas of electoral processes, political parties, constitution building, democracy and gender, state of democracy and democracy and conflict.

Legal system in Côte d'Ivoire

Online guide to the legal system of Côte d'Ivoire written by Armel Olivier Yapi and Yao Mamoudou, on NYU's Globalex website. The guide was published in 2009 and is updated periodically. It provides background and historical information about Côte d'Ivoire. There is information about the various institutions which make up the Ivorian legal system, including the government, the National Assembly and the judiciary. The author also provides a section on the sources of law - including the Constitution, legislation, and international law - and information on where these texts are published.
