Centre for Crime and Justice Studies (CCJS)

The Centre is "an independent charity at King's College London that informs and educates about all aspects of crime and the criminal justice system". CCJS publishes the 'British Journal of Criminology' and produces a quarterly magazine, 'Criminal Justice Matters' .The site provides online access to the centre's publications and a list of archived publications. There is an events diary listing forthcoming conferences, seminars and meetings on criminal justice; and a news section giving access to press releases, articles, and consultation responses.

Practical Law is a Thomson Reuters subscription database providing a range of resources for lawyers, including contracts, toolkits, documents, practice notes and training materials. A wide range of practice areas are covered including construction, banking, employment, environmental, intellectual property and tax law.

ICLR.3

ICLR.3 is the website of legal publisher the Incorporated Council of Law Reporting (ICLR). They publish The Law Reports (the most authoritative reports for England and Wales), the Weekly Law Reports and other series. Brief details of cases can be freely searched using the ICLR.3 database and information on the full (subscription) site is given. There is also a knowledge section and a blog providing commentary, news and updates on the legal profession.

Hammicks Legal Bookshops

Website of the specialist legal bookseller, Hammicks, which has branches in London, Manchester and Glasgow. The online bookshop allows users to search or browse the catalogue of legal titles by author, title, keyword or ISBN. Users can order titles online and check details of their account, if they hold one with the company. The site offers news and updates on legal publishing in the UK, details of exhibitions and events and a page of related web links.

Westlaw UK

Westlaw UK is an online legal research service for the UK and EU, created by leading UK publishers Sweet & Maxwell. It is a subscription service, accessed by password. Westlaw UK provides a comprehensive collection of legal sources: UK and EU case law, UK and EU legislation, EU official publications, journal articles, Legal Journals Index, textbooks and encyclopaedias, news and business information. The website provides background information, technical specifications, support details and a feedback form for expressions of interest.

Sweet & Maxwell

Website of the legal publishing firm Sweet & Maxwell, who are based in London and form part of the Thomson Corporation. The catalogue of publications can be searched by title, author, keyword, etc, or browsed by legal subject, publication type (loose-leaf, book, journal, CD-Rom) or publisher. The site offers information on the company's online services, Westlaw UK and Lawtel. There are also details of conferences, materials aimed at the academic sector and a selection of podcasts.

LexisNexis

This is the website of the legal, tax and business publisher, LexisNexis, offering access to, and providing information about their online subscription services, catalogue of publications and other online customer services. The subscription services include Lexis®Library, All England Law Reports, Lexis®PSL, Middle East Law and a wide range of other legal, tax and regulatory research resources. The site also has a range of blogs covering corporate, banking, dispute, tax and family law, which can be freely accessed.

Lawtel

Lawtel is a fee based current awareness services, part of Thomson Reuters. Lawtel monitors and provides current information on UK and EU case law, legislation and journal articles. Lawtel provides a range of services including Lawtel Precendents giving access to commercial law, commercial property and employment precedents and the Lawtel FirstPoint service providing checklists, guidance and commentary on key property and commercial law issues.

Public Bill Committees

Web pages which list, and link to, the Public Bill Committee debates, alphabetically by the title of the Bill being considered. The information on each Bill includes the membership of the standing committee, the latest version of the Bill, reports of committee proceedings from different sittings and associated memoranda. The debates are available for parliamentary sessions back to 1997-1998.

UK Statutory Instruments

The Legislation.gov.uk website brings together the legislation held on the OPSI website and revised legislation from the Statute Law Database. The site is hosted by The National Archives on behalf of HM Government. This section of the site provides access to full text UK statutory instruments, Wales statutory instruments and Northern Ireland orders in council.
