Junior Lawyers Division

The Junior Lawers Division (JLD) is a Law Society group for LPC students, LPC graduates, trainee solicitors and solicitors who have been working for up to five years since they qualified. Its area of the Law Society website has feature articles, advice, news and information about training and networking opportunities. The JLD replaced the Young Solicitors Group and the Trainee Solicitors Group in 2008.

Solicitors' Association of Higher Court Advocates

Website of the Solicitors' Association of Higher Court Advocates (SAHCA), which was formed in 1994 to advance the cause of solicitor advocates practising in the higher courts. The website has information about the aims of SAHCA, profiles and contact details for key officers and a members' directory. Details of seminars and conferences, PDF versions of agendas and minutes of committee meetings and full-text copies of the association's quarterly newsletter, Solicitor Advocate are also available on the site.

Association of Personal Injury Lawyers

The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) is a UK-based organisation for lawyers of all types, and law students. Its website provides information for members of the public who have suffered an injury, a searchable directory of personal injury lawyers, APIL's responses to government consultations, information about its parliamentary work and particular campaigns, details of product recalls and other information. Parts of the site are restricted to APIL members only.

Technology and Construction Solicitors Association

Website of the Technology and Construction Solicitors Association (TeCSA) a professional body representing solicitors involved in litigation in the Technology and Construction Court. A selection of rules and protocols are made freely available (in HTML) on the site including adjudication and mediation rules, a model mediation agreement and protocols on alternative dispute resolution (ADR), information technology and expert witnesses. Additional guidance is available on arbitration and civil procedure.

City of London Solicitors' Company

Website of the City of London Solicitors' Company. This is the City Livery Company for solicitors and includes the City of London Law Society which deals with City solicitors' professional issues. Background information is given on the site covering the history of the company, the names of its officers, forthcoming events and information on how to join.

Canadian Law List

Website of a directory of Canadian law firms, lawyers, judges and government departments produced by the Canadian legal publisher Canada Law Book Inc. and made freely available online. The directory provides profiles and contact details (including email and website addresses) for each entry and is searchable by individual lawyer, law firm, region, practice area and government department. An online form and payment details are included on the site enabling lawyers or law firms to submit their own entry to the directory.

Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe

The Council of the Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) is the official representative body for the legal profession in the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA). It is also a Council of Europe consultative body. The website describes the CCBE's structure and work, lists its member bars and law societies and provides a directory of committee officers. The Documents section includes the Code of Conduct for European Lawyers and position papers on more than 25 subjects, ranging from access to justice and world trade to contract law and VAT.

Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal

Website of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, which hears cases involving breaches of the rules of professional conduct by solicitors.The site describes the functions and powers of the Tribunal and provides access to annual reports, practice directions and recent cause lists. Written findings of the Tribunal are linked to on the Solicitors Regulation Authority website.

City of London Law Society

Website of the City of London Law Society (CLLS) the professional body representing solicitors and law firms in the City of London. The site provides organisational information about CLLS including the names of committee members, a copy of the constitution and business plan. There is information about CLLS µs specialist committees including minutes of meetings, reports and other documentation. News of the Societyãs latest activities is delivered via an e-briefing which can be downloaded from the site along with a selection of precedent documents.

SRA Handbook

Handbook setting out professional standards for solicitors in England and Wales, produced by the Solicitors' Regulation Authority and made available on its website. Includes the SRA Code of Conduct, SRA Accounts Rules and other rules and regulations for practising solicitors. Previous versions of the handbook and old regulatory codes are also available, in the Archive.
