Systemic Justice

An NGO dedicated to advancing racial, social and economic justice by means of strategic litigation. The website has information about litigation projects,  including a BIPOC climate justice initiative. There are details of the lawyers’ network, the Community of Practice, and a ‘Community Toolkit for Change’ is available, consisting of a glossary of legal terms, a guide to strategic litigation and a set of discussion points for community groups. The site also provides reports, recorded talks and a blog.

Privy Council Papers

Searchable catalogue of papers relating to appeals from colonial and Commonwealth courts to the UK Privy Council,1792 to 1998. Each record gives dates, party names, the origin of the appeal and other details, and lists the papers produced during the proceedings.

Child Protection Resource

Child Protection Resource is a site providing information about the child protection system and law in the UK; it is aimed at professionals and users of the service and is written by family lawyer Sarah Phillimore. The site explains key elements of the practice area, such as Secure Accommodation Orders, Section 20 Agreements, and commonly used orders, such as Interim Care Orders and Special Guardianship Orders.

NHS Litigation Authority

The NHS Litigation Authority (NHSLA) deals with clinical negligence and other claims against the NHS. Its website describes its work and provides guidance for patients, clinicians, volunteers and social enterprises. Publications available on the site include brief details of relevant human rights cases, guidance regarding claims, factsheets and legal updates.

Carey Olsen

Carey Olsen is a Channel Islands law firm which covers a range of practice areas, including company and commercial, banking and financial, restructuring and insolvency, trusts, property, employment, competition, litigation and dispute resolution. The Publications section of its website provides a collection of articles produced by the firm on the law of Jersey and Guernsey, together with summaries of recent Jersey and Guernsey judgments. Civil Justice Reform Evaluation: Emerging Findings: an Early Evaluation of the Civil Justice Reforms

This paper from the Lord Chancellor's Department documents the emerging findings from the first phase of the Civil Justice Reforms, introduced in April 1999. These reforms were introduced following Lord Woolf's 'Access to Justice' report. The report discusses recent trends in litigation, the settlement and resolution of claims, trends in alternative dispute resolution, the impact of case management conferences, evidence on costs, and the views of litigants on the reforms. Many statistical tables are included.
