Centre for the Study of European Labour Law

Website of the Centre for the Study of European Labour Law at the University of Catania, set up in 1996 by Massimo D’Antona. The focus of the Centre is European social integration, the labour market and social protection systems. The Centre makes available a Working Papers Collection covering EU social law and policy, labour law and industrial relations. The papers are brought together a series of online volumes, Biblioteca 20 Maggio, which can be browsed or searched back to 2003. The papers are mostly in Italian with some in English.

Emplaw

Emplaw is a subscription service hosted by the General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU) and written by employment law specialists. The site provides guidance on a wide range of employment law topics and summaries of employment law decisions from the UK and European courts and tribunals. There is free access to employment law news stories and articles and to Emplaw Monthly, a review of developments in employment law which is available back to 2014. A directory of employment lawyers is also given.

NORMLEX Information System on International Labour Standards

This International Labour Organization (ILO) database brings together information on International Labour Standards along with national labour and social security laws. Country profiles show which ILO conventions have been ratified, provide links to national labour laws and information on reporting obligations. There is information on which countries have ratified ILO conventions along with links to all conventions open for ratification. There is also comparative data showing which countries have ratified which conventions.

Global Database on Occupational Safety and Health Legislation (LEGOSH)

This International Labour Organization (ILO) database brings together occupational safety and health (OSH) legislation and regulatory frameworks from around the world. The database can be browsed by country or searched by keyword. The information is arranged by themes eg. regulatory framework, OSH inspection and enforcement of legislation, employers’ duties and responsibilities and specific hazards or risks. Full-text legislation is linked to via the ILO’s database of national labour, social security and related human rights legislation (NATLEX), usually in the original language.

Health and Safety Executive

This site provides information on the activities and organisation of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). There is detailed guidance on health and safety which can be searched for by topic (asbestos, chemicals, corporate responsibility, electrical safety, noise, radiation etc.) and by industry (agriculture, engineering, local government, offshore oil and gas, education etc.). Resources include legislation, videos, leaflets and FAQs.

European Agency for Safety and Health at Work

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work was established by the EuropeanUnion in Bilbao in 1996. Its website provides information about EU legislation on health and safety at work, with links to the full text of directives and related documents. Other information available on the site inclues case studies, statistics and good practice guidance. The site is available in various European languages.

European safety and health legislation

Website of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work. The Agency was set up by the European Union to serve the information needs of those interested in occupational health and safety issues in member countries. This section of the site provides access to directives, standards and guidelines along with other official documentation of the European Union. Full text legislation is linked to on the EUR-Lex database. There is also guidance to health and safety legislation of individual member countries with links to key texts provided on external sites.

Protecting Pregnant Workers and New Mothers

A Health & Safety Executive (HSE) Web portal which draws together information, legislation and forms covering the health and safety of new and expectant mothers at work. The site provides guidance to legislation including the Management of Health and Safety Regulations 1999, Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, Employment Rights Act 1996 as amended by the Employment Relations Act 1999 and the Sex Discrimination Act 1975. There is a selection of full-text leaflets and guidance made available in PDF format aimed at working mothers, employers and health professionals.

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health - COSHH

A Health & Safety Executive (HSE) web portal which draws together information, regulations and forms relating to the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health - COSHH. The site has a selection of leaflets in PDF covering chemicals, foundaries, metals, risk assessment, COSHH regulations and the COSHH Essentials publications series. There is information taken from EH40/2005 which contains the list of workplace exposure limits for use with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (as amended).
