EUR-Lex: Consolidated Acts

Collection of consolidated European Union legislation on the free EUR-Lex website. The consolidated texts are intended as research tools; they have no legal validity. There is a dedicated search facility for consolidated texts, plus a browseable directory arranged by subject. EUR-Lex is available in all the languages of the EU member states.

Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Social Law

This website gives an introduction to the Max-Planck-Institut für Ausländisches und Internationales Sozialrecht, its staff, Library, teaching and research, in both English and German. Details of the Institute's publications are provided, including contents lists for its journal, "Zeitsschrift für Ausländisches und Internationales Arbeits-und Sozialrecht" (ZIAS), from volume 16 issue 3 (2002) onwards.

Sénat: Liens

The Links ('Liens') page on the website of the French Senate offers links to French legislation, the courts of France and jurisprudence, French local authorities, European law, political parties represented in the Senate, and international institutions. Among the legislation links are the full-text of the Constitution, the Journal Officiel and the consolidated texts of major legislation. The courts links include the Cour de Cassation, le Conseil d'Etat and the Cour des Comptes.

Human Rights in the EU: the Charter of Fundamental Rights (2000)

'Human Rights in the EU: the Charter of Fundamental Rights', is House of Commons Library Research Paper 00/32 (March 2000). It examines the development of a human rights doctrine in the European Union and the contents of the draft charter on fundamental rights. Also considered is the relationship between this and the European Convention on Human Rights and the response from the UK government. 

EU Treaties

The Lisbon Treaty, Treaty on European Union, Treaty establishing the European Community, Treaty establishing the European Coal and Steel Community and Treaty establishing the European Atomic Energy Community are all available. Other treaties and instruments include: the Single European Act and the Merger Treaty. The site is available in all the languages of the member states.

Westlaw UK

Westlaw UK is an online legal research service for the UK and EU, created by leading UK publishers Sweet & Maxwell. It is a subscription service, accessed by password. Westlaw UK provides a comprehensive collection of legal sources: UK and EU case law, UK and EU legislation, EU official publications, journal articles, Legal Journals Index, textbooks and encyclopaedias, news and business information. The website provides background information, technical specifications, support details and a feedback form for expressions of interest.

Common Market Law Review

The Common Market Law Review (ISSN: 0165-0750) is published bimonthly by Kluwer Law International, in cooperation with the British Institute of International and Comparative Law and the Europa Institute, University of Leiden. The Review is recognised as one of the leading journals in its field, meeting the needs of both academics and practitioners. Besides scholarly articles, the journal contains reports and commentaries on the decisions of the European Court of Justice, and of national courts in matters of EU law.
