Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service is a Department of the Scottish Executive. It the Scottish department responsible for the prosecution of crime, the investigation of sudden or suspicious deaths, and the investigation of complaints against the police. The site outlines the work of the Service and an interactive map of Scotland provides details of the network of Regional Procurator Fiscal offices supporting each Sheriff Court district. The site contains background information about the CPS including its history and role. There are pages aimed at victims of crime, contact details of local offices and press releases. The site also gives legal guidance for prosecutors and caseworkers covering the various types of offences, witnesses, case preparation, appeals, trial issues and sentencing.

Ministry of Justice, Human Rights and Correctional Service

Official website of the Lesotho Ministry of Justice, the body with responsibility for the judiciary, prisons, legal aid, probation and human rights in Lesotho. The site has information about the different departments within the Ministry of Justice including the Legal Aid Unit, Human Rights Unit and the Probation Unit. There are links to judgements of the High Court and the Court of Appeal on Saflii (South African Legal Information Institute)

Criminal Justice Policy Foundation

Website of the Criminal Justice Policy Foundation (CJPF) a United States based charitable organisation whose aim is to "educate the public about the impact of drug policy and the problems of policing on the criminal justice system". The CJPF provides information to policy makers and criminal justice professionals through education programmes, conferences and publications. The site has sections covering drug policy, sentencing policy, clemency policy, police policy and crime policy.

Justice and Home Affairs Council

The Justice and Home Affairs Council (JHA) brings together justice and interior ministers from the EU member states to make collective decisions on justice and home affairs policy; it is one of the configurations of the Council of the European Union. This page of the Council of the European Union's website introduces the JHA and provides links to information about important current policy areas. Dates of forthcoming meetings are also listed.

CrimeLynx is a web portal produced by Colorado-based criminal defence attorney Jeralyn Merritt. The site is aimed at criminal defence practitioners and has an emphasis on US law. There is a collection of legal research links, covering Federal criminal statutes, rules and circuit court opinions, Supreme Court materials, criminal defence organisations and resources focusing on the death penalty and computer crime. There are also links to investigative tools and policy organisations.

The Victims of Crime in Scotland website aims to provide information and advice for victims of crime. The site gives guidance on different aspects of the Scottish Criminal Justice System covering the different stages of the legal process such as reporting a crime, arrest, prosecution, attending court, sentencing and compensation. The site provides details of where victims can go for support,and links to related websites covering the police, solicitors, the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service and victim support groups.

London Criminal Courts Solicitors' Association

Website of the London Criminal Courts Solicitors' Association (LCCSA) an organisation founded in 1948 whose members are Solicitors who practise in and around the Greater London area. The site has information about the association, contact details of officers and a directory of members. There is a selection of responses to consultation papers from the Government and the Law Commission representing the LCCSA's point of view on issues such as very high cost cases and managing people with severe personality disorder.
