Sociedad Argentina de Derecho Canónico

An Argentinian private association which promotes the study of the Catholic Church's canon law. It website provides a collection of relevant documents, including versions of the Codes of Canon Law from different jurisdictions. The texts are in Spanish only and are presented in Word or PDF format. The site also hosts a digital library of full-text documents which can be searched by author and subject area.

Congreso de la Nación Argentina

Site of the Argentine Congress, which consists of the “Honorable Cámara de Diputados de la Nación” (Chamber of Deputies) and the “Honorable Cámara de Senadores” (Chamber of Senates). The site is divided into two parts, for the two Chambers but the content of the sections is similar. It provides background information about the structure and political make up and about the various Committees. It gives full-text access to a wide range of Government documents; these are mostly in Spanish, but the Constitution is available in English translation. Documents to download are in PDF format.

Sistema Argentino de Informatica Juridica

Website containing the official Argentinian Government database of legislation and legal resources. Provides the Constitution of Argentina, provincial constitutions, codes, national and provincial decrees, judgments of the Supreme Court, federal, national and provincial courts. There is also a large collection of journal articles and other commentary (under 'Doctrina'), as well as decisions and resolutions relating to Mercosur (the Southern common market).

Researching the Argentine Legal System

Online guide to the Argentine legal system written by Gloria Orrego Hoyos who works at the Secretariat Training and Jurisprudence of the Public Defender's Office in Argentina. The guide was published in 2006 (and updated in 2022) on the Globalex website and is made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The authors provide background information to the Argentine government and the executive, legislative and judicial powers.

Constitution of Argentina

This site contains the Constitution of Argentina in English, provided by the International Constitutional Law (ICL) project at the University of Bern in Switzerland. This edition of the Constitution incorporates all amendments made up to 1994 and covers the role and functions of the legislature, the executive, the judiciary and the provincial governments. The site also provides historical and background information to the Constitution.
