Website of the Scottish Council of Law Reporting, a non-profit company made up of Scottish judges, advocates and solicitors, whose purpose is to manage the publication of its Session Cases law report series and other materials. The site gives subscription information for the Sessions Cases which can be accessed online and in hard copy. There is a comprehensive collection of legal links focussing on the law in Scotland and organised by subject.

Website of Arden Davies Publishing, legal publishers specialising in the law applicable to the public sector in England and Wales. Contains sample issues of the following journals: Social Care Law Today; The Review of Mental Health Law and Practice; Journal of Community Care Law and Practice; The Journal of Public Childcare Law and Practice; Journal of Social Housing Law and Practice; Journal of Welfare Benefits Law and Practice.

African Journals OnLine

African Journals OnLine provides access to more than 800 journals published in Africa, including law titles, with many articles available free of charge. It was established as a project by the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications. Users can register for email alerts.

French Property Law

The French Property Law website is produced by the French law department at Russell-Cooke a law firm with offices in London. The site is made freely available in English and provides a guide to buying French property covering contracts, mortgages, searches and fees. There is a selection of FAQs covering inheritance and representation along with related news stories. A collection of in-house articles is made available in full-text in PDF format dealing with other aspects of purchasing property in France. The site also has a page of Web links.

Shareholder Rights

The Shareholder Rights website is made freely available online by Brabners Chaffe Street a firm of solicitors based in the North West of England. The site contains guidance relating to the legal position of shareholders in a Private Limited Company and includes information about the structure of a company and the role of directors, company secretaries and shareholders. Advice is also given on shareholder disputes, how to value shareholdings and how to sell shares in a Private Limited Company.

Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority

The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) deals with compensation claims from people who have been physically or mentally injured because they were the blameless victim of a violent crime in England, Scotland or Wales. CICA is an executive agency, sponsored by the Ministry of Justice. Its webpages, hosted by the official website Gov.UK, gives access to its reports and other publications.

Motor Accident Solicitors Society

The Motor Accident Solicitors Society (MASS) is a membership organisation for solicitors specialising in road accident claims. MASS also provides legal advice for people who have been victims of road traffic accidents and those involved in motor accident compensation claims. The site provides contact details for members of MASS using a clickable map of the UK regions. Advice on the site includes a checklist for accident victims, a guide to who pays the cost of legal advice and a glossary of legal terms. A section of the website is reserved for members only.

Human Rights and Democracy reports

This site provides access to all the Human Rights and Democracy annual reports published by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office from 1998 onwards. They provide detailed information on the strategy and actions of the British government in promoting human rights abroad. They also include comments on FCO activity by the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Select Comittee and key NGO bodies.

The Victims of Crime in Scotland website aims to provide information and advice for victims of crime. The site gives guidance on different aspects of the Scottish Criminal Justice System covering the different stages of the legal process such as reporting a crime, arrest, prosecution, attending court, sentencing and compensation. The site provides details of where victims can go for support,and links to related websites covering the police, solicitors, the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service and victim support groups.
