Service Central de Législation

Website of the Luxembourg official legislation publisher. As well as publishing the Mémorial (official gazette and legislation), the Service has published the Constitution of Luxembourg and the human rights legislation in force in Luxembourg, and both of these are available on this site in PDF, in French. The Service's annual reports (Rapports d'acitivité) are available from 1999 onwards. These include chapters on the legislative process in Luxembourg, statistics on laws passed, and the Service's publications programme for that year.

European Free Trade Association Court

Official site for the European Free Trade Association Court. The EFTA operates under the Stockholm Convention in the day-to-day management of the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) and the coordination and development of trade agreements with third countries. The Court fulfils the judicial function within EFTA and has jurisdiction with regard to EFTA States which are parties to the European Economic Area Agreement (currently Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Norway).

Conseil d'Etat, Grand-Duché de Luxembourg

The Conseil d'Etat advises the Government of Luxembourg and gives expert opinions on law reforms and questions of higher administration. Its website outlines its history, composition and organisation. The Conseil's opinions are available on the 'Avis' page from 2008 onwards. Relevant laws, regulations and extracts from the Constitution are provided under 'Législation'. The site is available in French only.

European Investment Bank (EIB)

The European Investment Bank is the official body which finances capital investment in the EU and seeks to promote European Union economic policy. Its activities include: fostering economic development of the poorer European regions, financing urban renewal projects and promoting competitiveness of industry. The EIB website contains the full-text of the statute which sets out its role, it also includes its most recent annual report, press releases and other publications. Information is also available on current projects and there is a list of recent publications.

European Court of Auditors

The European Court of Auditors (ECA) was created in 1977 and acts as the official auditor of European Union finances. Its website offers details of the role and purpose of the ECA, its annual reports on the EU budget from 1977 onwards and the external auditor's reports from 1997 onwards. It also has a collection of ECA opinions going back to 1977 (via Browse Publiactions, on the home page) as well as briefing papers, background papers, reports, speeches and other documents. The Library pages include a bibliography concerning the EU budget.

Chambre des Députés du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg

The website of the Parliament of Luxembourg offers information on the organisation, membership and activities of the parliament. It includes press releases, access to live web content of the proceeedings, lists of members, committee programmes and fact sheets on parliamentary organisation in Luxembourg. Users should note that most information is currently offered in French only.

Court of Justice of the European Union

Official website of the Court of Justice of the European Union. The site explains the the organisation, jurisdiction and procedure of the Court of Justice and General Court and provides their rules of procedure and practice directions. All the courts' case law is available (including decisions of the now-defunct Civil Service Tribunal) via numerical case indexes and a separate case database. For cases decided from January 2012 onwards, there are authenticated electronic reports (the Electronic Reports of Cases, or 'e-ECR').

CVCE (Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l'Europe)

The CVCE website brings together resources relating to the history of European integration. Based at the University of Luxembourg, the CVCE website covers key events in the history of Europe and the development of the European Union, Western European Union, Council of Europe, European Free Trade Association and Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe. Primary source documents, treaties, papers, cartoons, photographs and multimedia clips are provided. The section "ENA and Education" includes online textbooks, courses and lectures.

Luxembourg Ministère de la Justice

Official website of the Luxembourg Ministry of Justice. The site provides a profile of the Justice Minister and information on the organisation and functions of the Ministry. These include civil law issues, criminal law including prisons, company law and company registration. A section of the site aimed at citizens includes advice on compensation for victims of crimes, legal aid, review of criminal trials and nationality issues. There is information on the Luxembourg courts and Constitutional Court judgements are provided.

Barreau de Luxembourg

Website of the Luxembourg Bar Council the professional organisation representing lawyers based in Luxemburg. The site gives background information on the work of the attorney in Luxembourg and the organisation of the Bar Council. There is a directory of lawyers based in Luxembourg and Diekirch which can be browsed or searched by specialisation, a directory of bankrupt companies and details of legal aid in Luxembourg. Details of conferences, events and training courses are also freely accessible on the site. The site can be viewed in French, English and German.
