Advertising Standards Canada

The website of Advertising Standards Canada (ASC) is an online information resource aimed at the advertising industry in Canada. Committed to advertising self-regulation by the industry, the ASC seeks to provide information for its members within the context of the ASC's Canadian Code of Advertising Standards. The site gives an overview of the organisation's mission and activities in this area. There is a section devoted to advertising standards, including procedures for submitting complaints for consumers and special interest groups.

Court Challenges Program of Canada

Website of the Court Challenges Program of Canada a non-profit organisation which helps to fund important court cases relating to language and equality rights under the Canadian Constitution. There is background information to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the role of the courts. Sections of the Charter and the Constitution relating to equality and language rights are highlighted on the site.

Canadian Forum on Civil Justice

The Canadian Forum on Civil Justice is a non-profit organisation which aims to foster a fair, accessible and effective civil justice system. Its website has information about research programmes, including reports by the Forum's Action Committee. There is an inventory of civil justice reforms in Canada from 1950 onwards (with links to relevant documents), a blog, a bibliography (with links) called the 'Clearinghouse' and a newsletter. The site can be viewed in English or French.

Human Rights Research and Education Centre

The Human Rights Research and Education Centre is an independent centre within the University of Ottawa in Canada. The site provides background information along with details of courses and research projects. The Virtual Human Rights Library has links to an extensive collection of Canadian and international human rights resources including databases, ejournals and newsletters. Annual reports of the Centre are provided in HTML along with copies of the Centre's e-bulletin and a collection of free online reports and articles. Parts of the site are password protected.

Forwarderlaw

Forwarderlaw is a network of lawyers specialising in freight forwarding. The website is aimed at the freight forwarding industry. There are details about members and a collection of free articles and case commentaries covering related topics such as carriage by air, rail, road and sea, insurance and conflict of laws. 

Linkages

Linkages is provided by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), publishers of the Earth Negotiations Bulletin. 'It is designed to be an electronic clearing-house for information on past and upcoming international meetings related to environment and development policy.' Linkages offers access to several mailing list services, a regularly updated newsletter, as well as channelled views of key environemntal processes, e.g. sustainable development, trade and investment, and human development.

Linkages Update

Linkages Update is published online every fortnight and contains information about additions to the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) Reporting Services'Linkages website. Content will focus on environmental news stories, updates on environmental negotiations, brief summaries of key environment and sustainable development meetings, an extensive list of upcoming meetings and a summary of recent notable academic literature. The site includes an archive of issues, dating back to 2002. Users may subscribe to the service and receive the latest Update by email.

Association du Barreau Canadien - Division Québec

Website of the Quebec Division of the Association du Barreau Canadien (abcqc.qc.ca) representing members of the legal profession in the province of Quebec. There are sections covering the function and purpose of the Association, the work of committees covering specialist subject areas, a programme of events and a recent news section. The Association publishes a journal entitled "Point de Mire" and the current issue and back issues since June 2002 are available in full-text in PDF format.

Barreau du Québec

Official website of the Barreau du Québec (Bar Association of Quebec). Key sections of the site cover services to members, services for the general public and Bar publications. The organisation publishes two journals, which are freely available on the website in full-text: Journal du Barreau ( 1996 - ), which provides articles and news, and Revue du Barreau (1999 - 2005), which includes more substantial articles. There is also a monthly e-newsletter, Le Bref (2007 - ), and searchable databases of Bar members and mediators.
