Supreme Court of Canada Decisions

A CanLII database containing all the decisions rendered by the Supreme Court of Canada since 1967. Selected decisions from 1876 onwards are also provided. The data is supplied by the Supreme Court project's site at LexUM. Decisions can be searched or browsed by date. CanLII, the Canadian Legal Information Institute, is a key service providing free access to Canadian primary legal materials. The service has been designed by LexUM at the University of Montreal (using software developed by AustLII) on the initiative of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada.

Financial Consumer Agency of Canada

Website of the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, a federal regulator established in 2001 to oversee consumer issues in the financial services sector. The site provides information about the Agency's history, role and mandate, and details of the federal and provincial organisations it regulates, such as banks, credit unions, trust and loan companies, insurance companies, retail associations and co-operative credit associations. The site is arranged into sections aimed at consmers, industry and the media.

Canadian Maritime Law Association

Official website for the Canadian Maritime Law Association (CMLA), an independent body working with government to develop legal provision for maritime commerce and marine transportation in Canada. The Association also represents Canada within the international shipping community working towards uniform development of Canadian and international maritime laws.

World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) "promotes and coordinates at institutional level the fight against doping in sport in all forms". WADA was established under the terms of the Lausanne Declaration on Doping in Sport which followed from the first World Conference on Doping in Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland, on February 2-4, 1999. WADA monitors compliance with the worldwide standrad for anti-doping regulation - the World Anti-Doping Code. The website contains material on the development, acceptance and implementation of the world anti-doping code.

The Court

The Court is a student-edited blog providing commentary and case notes on recent cases at the Supreme Court of Canada. The blog is an initiative of the Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in Canada. Students are able to post commentaries under the direction of a faculty member and anyone can post a response. Posts can be viewed by subject category, alphabetically by case name and by year. Other features of the site include an online bibliography of materials relating to the Canadian Supreme Court, statistics and links to Supreme Court and other related sites.

Canadian IT Law Association

Website of the Canadian IT Law Association (IT.Can), a professional organisation for Canadian information technology lawyers. IT.Can promotes the development and discussion of IT law through annual conferences, other events and production of a bi-monthly newsletter. Information on past and future conferences and training events and PDF copies of the newsletter are available on the site. Details are given of IT.Can committees dealing with privacy, e-commerce and outsourcing. There are documents and links relevant to outsourcing law and practice negotiations.

National Association of Women and the Law

Website of the National Association of Women and the Law (NAWL) a non-profit organisation established in 1974 to promote equality for women in Canada. The site has background information about the organisation, its aims and events. Research reports, briefs, open letters to government and press releases are provided in full text (PDF) on the site. These are focused on key issues of concern including women and the family, work and equality, social and economic rights, violence against women, immigration and refugee law and women's human rights.

Lexpert

Lexpert is a Canadian legal business news platform run by Key Media Business Information. The site includes a directory of Canadian lawyers and law firms, as well news articles and the Big Deals directory, which covers mergers and acquisitions.

Freelaw

Freelaw is the official website providing legislation of Saskatchewan, including acts, regulations, court rules and historical legislation. The content can be searched using simple and advanced search options, or browsed by subject or legislation type.

Legislation of the Northwest Territories

The website of the Department of Justice in the Canadian Northwest Territories provides consolidated primary and secondary legislation, updated monthly. Basic and advanced search facilities are available, or users can browse the legislation by title (under "Alphabetical Search"). The Northwest Territories Rules of Court and the Northwest Territories Gazette (2006 - ) can be found via the same web page. The website has an English and a French version and all the documents provided are bilingual.
