This is the official website of the Austrian Parliament. It provides detailed information on the history and operation of the National Council (Nationalrat) and the Federal Council (Bundesrat), including rules of procedure, the constitution, the role of parliament in the Austrian political system and stages in the legislative process. More detailed information on current parliamentary business is offered in German only. A short introduction is offered in English and other languages.

European Integration Online Papers

European Integration Online Papers (EIoP) is an ejournal published by the European Communities Studies Association, Austria (ECSA-A). It covers the historical, political, legal, economic and sociological aspects of European Integration. Past issues covered include: monetary policy, enlargement of the EU, governance of Europe, European constitution, single European Currency (Euro) and citizenship. The full text of each paper is provided in HTML or PDF. Papers from 1997 to 2005 can be browsed by subject- political science, law, economics or sociology- or searched by title or author.

Constitutional Court of Austria

Official Website of the Austrian Constitutional Court. The site provides background information on the jurisdiction of the Court which covers the review of norms, impeachment and electoral matters.There are details of the justices, information on the organisation of the Court and how decisions are made. A selection of Austrian Federal Constitutional Laws is given in PDF along with a copy of the Constitutional Court Act 1953. A number of full-text decisions can be viewed on the site in German only. The site can be viewed in German and English.

International Business Law Consortium

Website of the International Business Law Consortium (IBLC), a membership organisation of law and accountancy firms which forms part of the Center for International Legal Studies in Austria. The IBLC is concerned with the development of professional knowledge and skills. The site includes a directory of members, live news feeds and information about speakers with expertise in particular areas. The Consortium's International Directory of Corporate Symbols and Business Terms is made available free in the Publications section. Parts of the site are restricted to members.

International Space Law

This section of the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) website provides access to legal materials and background documents about international space law. These include treaties (bilateral and multilateral); General Assembly resolutions; a database of national laws and official documents relating to outer space (including a directory of space law courses, 'Educational opportunities in space law'); and studies by UNOOSA.

UNCITRAL Notes on Organizing Arbitral Proceedings

Guidance notes on organising arbitral proceedings produced by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and published on its website. UNCITRAL is a core legal body of the UN in the field of international trade law, working towards the progressive harmonisation of the law of international trade. These non-binding guidance notes were drafted in consultation with experts from various legal systems, national arbitration bodies and international professional associations and finalised at the twenty-ninth session of UNCITRAL (New York, 28 May - 14 June 1996).

EIF Implementation Database

Database of studies of implementation of EU legislation, produced and managed by Dimiter Toshkov of Leiden University with the support of the Institute for European Integration Research at the Austrian Academy of Sciences. The database brings together quantitative academic research concerning the implementation of directives and compliance with EU law.

European Space Policy Institute

Website of the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI), a body established by the European Space Agency ESA and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) in 2003 with the aim of providing decision-makers with an ¶independent view and analysis on mid- to long term issues relevant to the use of space.÷ The site gives details of ESPI members, governing bodies and staff. A selection of reports dealing with issues and trends in the global space sector are available to download along with articles and presentations by ESPI staff.

The 1967 Referendum: history and myths

Australian Parliamentary Library research briefing published in 2007, on the Parliament of Australia's ParlInfo site. The 1967 referendum led to changes in the Australian Constitution and resulted in aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders being counted in the census. The referendum also opened the door to further changes in the way aborigines were treated by non-aborigines. The briefing provides background and historical information, looks at the implications and impact of the referendum and addresses myths which have grown up around it.
