Arbitration Chambers

The Arbitration Chambers is a Singapore-based mediation and arbitration company. Its website provides model arbitration clauses and arbitration laws for China, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia (translated into English). It also provides links to other Asian and international arbitration organisations.

Singapore International Arbitration Centre

Website of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), a non-profit organisation established in 1991. Gives an overview of SIAC's services, procedures and charges. It also provides profiles of selected SIAC cases, statistics, SIAC's arbitration rules and model arbitration clauses. There is also a guide to the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, together with various IBA arbitration guides. The Singapore Arbitrator newsletter is available free, from September 2004 onwards, and there is an online bookshop.

Legal system in Singapore

Chapter from "ASEAN Legal Systems", produced by the ASEAN Law Association. Provides a history of the legal system of Singapore and information on sources of law, the governmental system, civil and criminal procedures and the legal profession and legal education. Other chapters currently available online describe the legal systems in Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam.

Industrial Arbitration Court

Website of the Industrial Arbitration Court of Singapore. Provides historical background information about the court and makes available its annual reports. There are details of the court's procedures, covering arbitration, certification of collective agreements and variation of collective agreements. The Resources section includes forms, a collective agreement checklist, a sample collective agreement, a list of forthcoming hearings, links to the Singapore Industrial Relations Act and Employment Act, and a database of awards from 2000 onwards.

Guide to the Singapore legal system and legal research

Guide to the Singapore legal system by Chai Yee Xin, a research librarian from Singapore National University. Published on New York University's website and periodically updated, it describes the legal system of Singapore and provides information about Singaporean legislation, law reports and citations, with links to electronic legal materials. The author outlines the parliamentary system and the legislative process, including guidance on accessing official publications.

Singapore Ministry of Law

Official website of the Ministry of Law, with information about registration of lawyers and insolvency practitioners in Singapore, dispute resolution, legal aid, regulation of money-lenders, intellectual property rights, administration of land, transnational civil and criminal justice and other matters. Provides official guidance, details of policy consultations, parliamentary speeches and news. Includes 'Insight Minlaw', a collection of articles about legal developments and the future of law.

Asian Legal Information Institute

The Asian Legal Information Institute (AsianLII) website provides free access to legal materials from all 28 countries and territories in Asia, as well as the regional organisations, APEC, ASEAN and SAARC. It includes legislation, case law, law reform reports, treaties, a few law journals and other legal material, along with links to other law sites. The content can be searched or browsed; searches can be limited to one country, or extended to all countries.
