LawNet is hosted by PNMB-LawNet, an Internet Division of Percetakan Nasional Malaysia Berhad (the Malaysian government printing department). It is a subscription database providing access to updated legislation, an online copy of the Malaysia Gazette and selected judgments of the Privy Council. A page of links to Malaysian legal sites is made freely available.

Decisions of the Malaysian Court of Appeal

A CommonLII database containing decisions of the Malaysian Court of Appeal. Decisions are available from 1989 onwards and can be viewed using the system's comprehensive search facility, case name search or alphabetical browse list. Full text documents are presented in HTML. The information can also be viewed on the Malaysian Courts Website and a link is provided on this page. The Commonwealth Legal Information Institute (CommonLII) is a collaborative service providing free access to primary legal materials from Commonwealth and common law countries and territories.

Commonwealth Legal Information Institute

The Commonwealth Legal Information Institute (CommonLII) is a cooperative legal information initiative led by AustLII (the Australasian Legal Information Institute) providing access to freely available legal materials from all Commonwealth countries. CommonLII contains over 400 databases providing case law, legislation, treaties and law reform reports from more than 50 Commonwealth and common law countries and territories.

Parliament of Malaysia

Official website of the Parliament of Malaysia. The site provides background to the parliamentary system in Malaysia and the role of the Senate and the House of Representatives. Contact details are given for members along with information on the various committees. Official publications can be viewed on the site including order papers, bills, acts and Hansard (currently only available in Malay). Documents can be searched by keyword or browsed by date. The site can be viewed in English and Malay.

Attorney General's Chambers of Malaysia

Official Website of the Attorney General of Malaysia whose role is to advise the Malaysian government on legal matters. The site provides information on the roles and responsibilities of the Attorney General and details the work of the different divisions of the Attorney General's Office including the civil, advisory, drafting, prosecution, international affairs, law revision and law reform divisions. There are links to Malaysian legal resources and the library's OPAC can be searched on the site.

Malaysian Courts

Website of the Malaysian Chief Registrar's Office the body with responsibility for the administration of the Malaysian courts. The site provides background information to the role of the Chief Registrar's Office and the court system in Malaysia. There is a detailed description of the Federal Court covering the constitution, history and status of the court. There are profiles of members of the judiciary and contact details for the different courts.

Arbitration Chambers

The Arbitration Chambers is a Singapore-based mediation and arbitration company. Its website provides model arbitration clauses and arbitration laws for China, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia (translated into English). It also provides links to other Asian and international arbitration organisations.

Malaysian Bar

Website of the Malaysian Bar Council. The site includes details of the members of the Bar Council, the various committees, contacts for the state bar committees and details of the Council's conferences and events. The site contains professional information including guidance to qualifying as an advocate and solicitor in Malaysia, legislation concerning the legal profession, Bar Council rulings and practice directions back to 1946. The site has information on the Bar's disciplinary powers and there is a searchable directory of lawyers, law firms and legal aid centres.

Legal system in Malaysia

Covers the history and development of the legal system in Malaysia, the administration of justice, the court system including courts with specialist functions and information on other bodies related to the judiciary.
