Legacy website of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) which was established by the United Nations Security Council in 1995 to prosecute those responsible for the genocide that took place in Rwanda during 1994. The ICTR closed in 2015. There is background information and a timeline to the genocide. Selected documents relating to each trial, including indictments, judgements and transcripts, are given in PDF.
The Institute for Research of Crimes Against Humanity and International Law was set up as part of Sarajevo University in 1992 to research war crimes, genocide and other crimes that breach international law. The International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) is the UN institution responsible for dealing with matters that were formerly the responsibility of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), both of which have been wound up. ICD is a database of more than 600 international criminal law cases from international, hybrid and municipal courts, from 1946 to the present day. It is accompanied on the website by news, academic articles, working papers and other information. Each case record in the database includes a summary, the procedural history, a link to the judgment, references to commentary, lists of instruments cited, details of related cases and so on.

The guide was published in 2012 (and updated by Devan Orr in 2024) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School at the New York University School of Law.
