International Labour Organization Administrative Tribunal Judgements

Website of Triblex a databse providing access to judgements of the International Labour Organization Administrative Tribunal. The ILO Administrative Tribunal considers complaints from officials of the International Labour Office or one of the other international organizations that recognise its jurisdiction. The case law database, Triblex, carries selected judgments of the Tribunal in both official languages (English and French). Its purpose is to guide users to salient points in the Tribunal's reasoning.

European Free Trade Association Court

Official site for the European Free Trade Association Court. The EFTA operates under the Stockholm Convention in the day-to-day management of the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) and the coordination and development of trade agreements with third countries. The Court fulfils the judicial function within EFTA and has jurisdiction with regard to EFTA States which are parties to the European Economic Area Agreement (currently Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Norway).

Labordoc

Labordoc is a searchable database which contains more than 360,000 records relating to the International Labour Organization (ILO) and other labour organisations, since 1919. Its coverage is very wide and includes materials relating to socio-economic development - especially work-related human rights issues. There is a strong focus on empirical literature, although some material on labour economics, gender economics and welfare economics is included. Much of the collection focuses on developing and transition countries. There are direct links to online texts from over 12,000 publications.

European Free Trade Association - (EFTA)

EFTA was founded in 1960 with the purpose of removing trade barriers between its member nations. Currently these are Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The website provides information on the EFTA Secretariat, EFTA Surveillance Authority and EFTA Court. The Secretariat section includes information on the purpose and structure of EFTA as well as its annual reports and recent press releases. Also accessible are the Stockholm Convention and fact sheets on the relationship between EFTA and the European Economic Area (EEA).

International Maritime Organization (IMO)

The International Maritime Organization was established in 1959 with the purpose of providing a forum for intergovernmental cooperation regarding shipping engaged in international trade. Its current areas of activity include: maritime safety, marine pollution, international trade, navigation techniques and technical matters effecting shipping. Its website offers a description of the history and purpose of the IMO and a list of its members. It also includes summaries of all the conventions and treaties adopted since its origin. Information on publications can also be accessed.

Organization of American States

The Organization for American States (OAS) is a regional forum for dialogue and cooperation on political, economic and social issues in the Americas. In addition to general information on its membership and programmes, the website contains the full-text of a number of OAS documents including its charter, annual report, conventions, treaties, all resolutions from the General Assembly and Permanent Council from 1994 onwards, and press releases from 1995 onwards. Also included are the transcripts of key speeches made by the Secretary General and the Assistant Secretary General since 1995.

Nordiska Rådet / Nordiska Ministerrådet

Website of the Nordic Council and Nordic Council of Ministers. The site provides information about official cooperation between the governments and parliaments of Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland. It also has facts and figures about the Nordic region, news. The Resources section includes teaching materials for schools, maps, photographs and links to dictionaries of the Nordic languages. The site is available in English and the Scandinavian languages.

Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)

The IPU is an international organisation of parliaments of sovereign states which acts to promote parliamentary democracy and provides a forum for worldwide parliamentary dialogue. Its website is available in French or English and includes information on the structure, purpose and activities of the IPU. The full-text of recent press releases from the organisation and the text of resolutions are accessible. Also available online is PARLIT, the IPU's searchable database of bibliographic references to books and articles relevant to the study of parliamentary law and practise.
