A bibliographic guide to business and commercial laws in the Federal Republic of Germany, listing English translations, research aids and sources. The guide was written by Dr. Sebastian Omlor who is Professor of Law and Director of the Institute for Comparative Law at the University of Marburg School of Law in Germany. The guide was published in 2005 (and updated in 2022) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School Program at the New York University School of Law. The authors give details of print materials with links to some electronic sources offered on the Internet. The first part of the guide is devoted to legal materials translated into English including compilations of business and commercial laws, sources of private and commercial law and laws dealing with business organisation and regulation. Major sites providing access to German business and commercial law in German are highlighted. Additionally the guide suggests business and commercial law guides and handbooks covering the general subject and specific topics such as agency law, industrial and intellectual property, corporate taxation, competition, banking and energy law. General business information sources, company directories, online attorney directories and legal dictionaries are also mentioned along with an alphabetical index of German laws translated into English. This is an updated version of a guide published in 2000 on LLRX.com (Law Library Resource Xchange)a free online web journal for legal information professionals.
