The Environmental Law Institute (ELI) is a not-for-profit research and education institute based in Washington, US, which aims to shape the fields of environmental law, policy, and management in the US and beyond. The site provides information about the work of the ELI, including an overview of its programs relating to water resources; land and biodiversity; and innovation in governance. There is a searchable database of more than 4000 official guidance and policy documents, which ELR subscribers and Associates of the ELI can download for free, while others are charged a small fee. ELI books and research reports are listed; some of the latter are available to download for free. The current contents page of the Institute's journal, The Environmental Forum, is provided. The site includes indexes to the National Wetlands Newsletter, 1978-2008, together with recent full-text articles. There is also a link to the ELI's Environmental Law Reporter online, which is subscription-only.
