There are also a number of free email newletters available providing information on the Foundation''s research and justice initiatives.

Association of Child Abuse Lawyers

Website for the UK's Association of Child Abuse Lawyers, an organisation aiming to offer practical support for lawyers and other professionals working for adults and children who have been abused. The site has advice aimed at survivors and contact details of solicitors specialising in child abuse work. There is a page of news stories, details of training courses and a page of related web links. Parts of the site are restricted to members only.

American Civil Liberties Union

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) campaigns, litigates and informs the general public about the current state of civil and political rights in the United States. Its areas of concern include freedom of speech, religious liberty, safeguarding gay and homosexual rights, preventing racial and sexual discrimination, prison reform and issues relating to the death sentence and the abolition of capital punishment. Law Society of New South Wales

Website of the Law Society of New South Wales, the professional association for the solicitor's branch of the legal profession in the State of New South Wales, Australia. The site offers legal, professional and management resources for solicitors including access to the Law Society Journal, Caveat Bulletin, Library Catalogue, Law Society Precedents, information on professional conduct and regulation. Many of these are restricted to members only. Information aimed at the public includes advice on a number of legal topics, dealing with a lawyer and making a complaint.

American Society of Comparative Law

The American Society of Comparative Law (ASCL) promotes the study of foreign and comparative law in the United States. It publishes the American Journal of Comparative Law and organises events and meetings. The ASCL website provides a seardchable index to the Journal from 1952 to 2006. Details of recent conferences and meetings are available under "Programs". The site also outlines the Society's research opportunities and interests. Law Society of Ireland

Website of the Law Society of Ireland. The Society, established in 1773, works to improve access to the law generally and also provides representation, services and support for solicitors. It exercises statutory functions in relation to the education, admission, enrolment, discipline and regulation of the solictors' profession. The site provides an overview of the work of the society and of the legal profession in Ireland.

Society of Construction Law

Internet site for the Society of Construction Law (SCL). The Society was founded in 1983 to promote for the public benefit education, study and research in the field of construction law and related subjects in the UK and internationally. The site provides information about the organisation and work of the Society, supported by an online newsletter, with details of forthcoming events and the full text of articles and papers published by the SCL. Links are given to construction law societies in other parts of the world, construction law courses and other related websites.

National Conference of State Legislatures

Website for the US National Conference of State Legislatures, an organisation founded in 1975 to represent state interests before Congress, the administration and federal agencies. Membership is made up of US state lawmakers and legislative staff. The site outlines the work and policies of the organisation and features regular news, views and job listings. It describes the work of the NCSL's 12 standing committees which "develop the official policy statements that determine our positions on the wide range of federal actions that affect the states".

New Zealand Law Librarians Association

The aim of the New Zealand Law Librarians Association (NZLLA) is to promote law librarianship by providing a national and regional focus for information specialists working in the legal sector. It encourages developments that will further improve the usefulness and efficiency of law libraries and fosters a spirit of cooperation among members of the group. The website provides information on the organisation, past and future conferences, special projects and articles written by NZLLA members. Copies of NZLLA's Principles of Professional Conduct can be downloaded from the site.
