Costs Lawyer Standards Board

The Costs Lawyer Standards Board (CLSB) regulates cost lawyers within England and Wales. Its website details the role of a costs lawyer and provides documents including rules and regulations for costs lawyers, the costs lawyers' Code of Conduct, newsletters, guidance and policy documents. The site also has a searchable register of authorised costs lawyers.

Parking on Private Land Appeals

Parking on Private Land Appeals (POPLA) is an independent resolution service set up under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 which hears appeals from those who have been issued with parking charge notices in respect of vehicles parked on private land. The site has guidance on making an appeal and a selection of FAQs. POPLA annual reports and a page of links to related websites are also given.

Intergovernmental Organisation for International Carriage by Rail

Website of the Intergovernmental Organisation for International Carriage by Rail (OTIF) the body set up by the Convention Concerning International Carriage by Rail (COTIF) 1980. OTIF is involved with the development of rail transport law including areas such as contracts of carriage for the international carriage of passengers and goods, the carriage of dangerous goods and the removal of obstacles to the crossing of frontiers in international rail transport.

Central Bank of Bahrain

The website of the Central Bank of Bahrain, which has a section on the relevant laws, under Regulatory Functions. Under Laws and Regulations there is a quick search box and an option to search by rule number. The full texts of various laws are available in html. The general webpage also gives information about the Central Bank, the monetary policy, banking operations, publications and data, consumer information and the financial sector. The Arabic version of the website is currently under construction.

Care Inspectorate

The Care Inspectorate is an independent organisation which regulates, inspects and supports the improvement of care, social work and child protection services in Scotland. The site includes guidance, inspection reports and documents relating to inspection, complaints and enforcement. There are also publications aimed at the public and professionals that can be freely downloaded from the site.

International Olympic Committee

Official website of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) which since 1894 has been the international non-governmental organisation carrying final authority for the Olympic Movement. The site provides information about the composition, organisation, governance and financing of the IOC and includes a list of members who represent the IOC in their respective countries. Legislative functions are conducted by the Executive Board, which enacts regulations implementing the Olympic Charter, assisted by functional commissions responsible for areas such as ethics and sport and law.

Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect

The Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect was established in 2008 by the International Crisis Group, Human Rights Watch, Oxfam International, Refugees International and WFM-Institute for Global Policy. The work of the Centre is focused on the new international norm, the Responsibility to Protect (R2P), which refers to protection of populations against genocide and other large-scale atrocities. The work of the Centre includes advocacy, research designed to further understanding of R2P and helping states to build capacity.

Childwatch International Research Network

Childwatch International Research Network is a global network of organisations doing interdisciplinary research in the area of children’s rights. The Childwatch Secretariat is based at the University of Oslo in Norway. The website carries details of Childwatch’s projects and research work. Topics covered include child labour, children and children’s rights and child poverty. A selection of reports can be downloaded from the site.
