Equality and Human Rights Commission

The Equality and Human Rights Commission is a UK body which replaced the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE), the Disability Rights Commission (DRC) and the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC). Its website provides advice relating to discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, gender, race, religion or sexual orientation and gives practical guidance on bringing a discrimination claim. There is a section dealing with rights in settings including employment, shops and services, health and social care, legal services, transport and education.

Antarctic Treaty System

Australian government website focusing on the Antarctic Treaty. Includes the text of the treaty and background information, plus a list of parties. Also includes the Madrid Protocol, which is concerned with environmental protection. References and links are given to the principal instruments and Australian legislation concerning the protection of the Antarctic environment.

Constitution of Turkmenistan

English version of the 1992 Constitution of Turkmenistan as amended to 2003,  provided by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on its Refworld website. Includes sections on the constitutional order, basic rights, the system of government, the electoral system and judicial power in Turkmenistan.

African Law Reporter

African Law Reporter (also known as JurisAfrica) was founded by Mr. Justice Francis M. Ssekandi, a former Justice of Appeal in Uganda. It currently provides a small selection of African legal materials, including judgments, constitutions, statutes, articles and news items. Links are provided to websites with related content.

Canada Patents, 1869-1919

Database of patents issued to Canadian residents and citizens between 1869 and 1919, provided by Library and Archives Canada. Over 190,000 digitised patents are available, searchable by patent number, patent holder, title, year and city, province or state. Results are displayed in summary format with links to the complete scanned image. The resource is available in either English or French.

Conflict of Laws.net

Conflict of laws.net is a private international law blog with contributions from scholars and practitioners around the world. The general editors are Associate Professor Jean Huang of the University of Sydney and  Prof. Dr. Tobias Lutzi of the University of Augsburg. A free email update service is available.

Legal system and research in the Sultanate of Oman

Guide to the law and legal research in Oman written by Khalil Mechantaf, a Beirut attorney, updated by Thomas Wigley, a partner at Trowers and Hamlins' Oman office. The guide, which is on New York University's Globalex website,  provides background and historical information on Oman and outlines the system of government, the composition of the judiciary and the court system. It includes a list of laws and legal codes.

Isle of Man Courts of Justice

The official website of the Isle of Man courts, providing information about the Manx judicial system, court listings, legal aid information, court rules, court forms, lectures, news and other material. Judgments are available via a link to Isle of Man Judgments Online. The Isle of Man is a self-governing Crown dependency which is not part of the United Kingdom.
