Portal Ibero-Americano de Justicia Electrónica
Portal to online resources relating to the justice systems of Spain, Portugal and Latin America, provided by the Conference of Ministers of Justice of Ibero-American Countries (COMJIB). The site gives details of the work being undertaken in the various jurisdictions dealing with access to justice, new technologies relating to the administration of justice, international legal cooperation, prison reform and gender equality. Links are given to relevant laws and the government departments undertaking the work. The site can be viewed in Spanish and Portuguese only.
Riigi teataja
Website for the State Gazette of the republic of Estonia, an official online publication in so far as all documents and legislation contained are deemed to be official versions. Indeed, the paper version of the gazette was discontinued in 2010. Published in Estonian only, the site provides a full text database of Estonian legal acts. From the home page, recent issues are available to browse by date, along with news on upcoming legal instruments, or the search (täpne otsing) button can be selected which will allow searching over both consolidated and original legislation.
Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency
The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is an executive agency of the Department of Health. It licenses and monitors medicines and reviews their advertising. Its website provides information about the work of the MHRA; it includes regulatory guidance, regulations, EU directives, consultation documents, newsletters and reports. Topics covered include the licensing of medicines; the licensing and regulation of herbal medicines; the regulation of medical devices; the regulation of nanotechnology; and clinical trials of medicines.
Food Standards Agency
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is responsible for food safety and food hygiene throughout the UK. It is a government body, set up by act of Parliament in 2000. The FSA website provides information about research programmes, public consultations, food safety management and enforcement of food standards regulations. Materials available on the site include UK and EU legislation, official guidance, consultation papers, surveys and statistics.
Food safety – From the Farm to the Fork
The European Commission’s food safety web pages, providing information about EU policy and legislation relating to food safety, animal feed safety, animal welfare and related matters. Publications provided include consultation documents, reports, EU legislation, treaties (under “International Affairs” – “Agreements” ) and press releases. News items and a blog are also available.
European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)
The EFSA is an independent European agency funded by the European Union. It is responsible for both food and feed safety, but is not responsible for EU food legislation. Scientific reports, consultation documents, annual reports and the EFSA Journal (an open-access scientific journal) are available on the EFSA website, together with news items. Policy topics can be browsed via an alphabetical list. The site is available in English, French, German and Italian.
Office of the Revenue Commissioners
The Office of the Revenue Commissioners is the Irish government body responsible for collecting taxes and duties and implementing import and export controls in Ireland. Its website has information about the services of the Revenue, taxation and duties. Tax legislation, tax treaties, official guidelines, annual reports and other documents are also provided. The site can be viewed in English or Irish; some content is also available in a variety of other languages.
Office of the Ombudsman, Ireland
The Office of the Ombudsman is an Irish statutory body which investigates complaints about the administrative actions of central and local government, the Health Service Executive and An Post (the postal service). Its website makes available annual reports and investigative reports from the 1990s onwards. It also provides summaries of cases dealt with by the Ombudsman, as well as official guidelines and other publications. The site can be viewed in English or Irish.
Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service
The website of the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) provides forms, statistics, legislation and policy information. It also has leaflets for the general public and other publications.
