Parliament of Canada

The website of the Parliament of Canada provides information about the work, organisation and history of the Canadian Senate, House of Commons and parliamentary committees. Details of current legislation and the work of previous sessions are given. Debates and committee minutes are available from 1996 onwards and bills or acts from 1994 onwards . Other official publications on the site include committee reports and minutes of committee proceedings. There is a directory of current Members of both Houses. The About Parliament section includes historical and procedural information.

Government Whips Office

The Government Whips' Office at the House of Lords provides support to the Chief Whip to enable Bills to pass through the House. The website has information on the whips and factsheets and briefing notes on Bills. There is also information on forthcoming business, oral questions and speakers in the House of Lords.

House of Commons

House of Commons section of the UK Parliament website, providing a information about the work of the House and about Members of Parliament. News items cover recent debates and the work of the Commons Committees. There are links to select committee reports, Hansard debates, current bills, briefing notes and the Summary Agenda and Order of Business. The site also includes a database of Early Day Motions (formal motions for debate which allow MPs to raise issues in which they are interested).

United States House of Representatives

The website of the US House of Representatives includes schedules of debates and committee hearings, information about votes and current bills and a directory of Representatives. The full text of current and older bills can be accessed via links to the Library of Congress’s Thomas website. The United States Code, which is produced by the Office of the Law Revision Counsel of the House, is also available, together with links to individual public laws (1995 to date and 1789 to 1875).

FindLaw Cases and Codes

Findlaw is a US website owned by Thomson Reuters. Its Cases and Codes section provides free access to federal case law, the US Constitution and the US Code (a compilation of federal laws in force). State constitutions, state case law and some state codes are also available, together with materials such as bills and city ordinances. The case law files typically go back to the 1990s, but the US Supreme Court opinions go back to 1893.

Rulemaking Gateway

The Rulemaking Gateway is a website of the United States Environmental Protection Agency. It provides free access for the public to the status of the EPA's priority rulemakings. The Gateway includes rules that have not yet been proposed, those open for public comment, those for which EPA is working on a final rule and those that have been recently finalised. Priority rulemakings are determined by regulatory managers based on criteria such as environmental significance, impact on the economy, external interest and effect on other EPA programmes.

Armenia banking laws

A collection of Armenian banking legislation in English translation, on the website of the Central Bank of Armenia. Some legislation is provided via links from the Introduction page, while other legislation can be found on the "Laws" and "Regulations" pages. The website can be viewed in English or Armenian.

World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is the UN agency responsible for the protection of intellectual property (IP) rights worldwide and for the administration of multilateral IP treaties. Its website contains the full text of all the treaties administered by WIPO, with status information; arbitration decisions relating to domain names; a database of national IP laws (WIPO-Lex); and a patents database.

European Agency for Safety and Health at Work

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work was established by the EuropeanUnion in Bilbao in 1996. Its website provides information about EU legislation on health and safety at work, with links to the full text of directives and related documents. Other information available on the site inclues case studies, statistics and good practice guidance. The site is available in various European languages.

Office of the Public Guardian (Scotland)

The Office of the Public Guardian in Scotland is part of the Scottish Court Service; it was set up under the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000. Its role is to supervise those who have been appointed to manage the financial or property affairs of adults who lack the capacity to do so for themselves. The site gives guidance on powers of attorney, access to funds, intervention orders and guardianship orders. There are forms to download and a link to the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000.
