Online guide to electronic and print sources in transnational and comparative family law by Marylin Johnson Raisch, who was Associate Director for Research and Collection Development at the Georgetown Law Center until her retirement. The guide was updated in 2022 and is published on New York University's Globalex website. The author gives an introduction to transnational law and provides links to major international agreements sponsored by the Hague Conference, United Nations, Council of Europe, the department of Private International Law at the U.S.

ASIL Electronic Resource Guide: International Commercial Arbitration

An online guide to electronic resources for international commercial arbitration, offering commentary and links. The guide forms a chapter of the American Society of International Law's Guide to Electronic Resources for International Law. Originally written by Charlotte Bynum, Reference Librarian at Tulane Law Library, it was been updated in 2015 by Gloria Miccioli, Librarian at US law firm Manatt, Phelps and Phillips.

ASIL Electronic Resource Guide: International Intellectual Property law

The American Society of International Law's Guide to Electronic Resources for International Law, written by Jonathan Franklin, Associate Law Librarian at the Gallagher Law Library, University of Washington School of Law. It consists of an introduction and commentary, supported by numerous links to treaties, national legislation and national decisions on other websites; there is also a section on subscription databases and guidance on secondary sources, including resource guides, bibliographies, blogs and electronic newsletters.

ASIL Electronic Resource Guide: International Organizations

The American Society of International Law's Guide to Electronic Resources for International Law, by Anne Burnett, Foreign and International Law Librarian at the University of Georgia School of Law, last updated in 2015. The author explains what is meant by intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations and provides research guidance. There is information about tools and resources including periodical indexes, journals, directories and research guides. Annotated links are given to collections of documentation on IGO and NGO websites.  

Centre for International Sustainable Development Law

The Centre for International Sustainable Development Law (CISDL) is based at McGill University Faculty of Law, Montreal. CISDL carries out research into the international law of sustainable development as it relates to trade, investment and competition; natural resources; biodiversity; climate change; human rights and poverty; peace, justice and governance; and health. Its website explains its remit and gives details of its activities.

Sustainable Development Law (SDL) research guide

Online guide to Sustainable Development Law, written by Gary Yessin, Reference Librarian at Florida A&M University College of Law. The article was originally published in 2006 (and updated in 2024 by Charlotte Daugherty) on the Globalex website and made freely available by the Hauser Global Law School at the NYU, School of Law. The author gives an introduction to the law relating to sustainable development and lists books on the subject. It also provides links to treaties, legal journals and research guides, along with a list of abbreviations.

International Judicial Monitor

International Judicial Monitor is an online journal produced by the International Judicial Academy in Washington D.C. and supported by the American Society of International Law. It focuses on international law and its primary target audience consists of those involved in judicial work, as well as other legal professionals. The publication has legal news stories, commentary, case law and book reviews. Other regular features include profiles of judges and background articles on courts and tribunals around the world.

Global Legal Monitor

Online publication by the Law Library of Congress in the US, providing information on legal developments from around the world. Content can be filtered by jurisdiction and year and there is a search facility. Sources include press reports and official publications.

A basic guide to international environmental legal research

Online guide to international environmental legal research written by Heidi Frostestad Kuehl, who is Director of the David C. Shapiro Memorial Law Library. The guide was last updated in 2022 and is available on New York University's Globalex website. It covers commonly-used abbreviations, treaty research, finding national environmental laws, key online resources, international organizations, legal blogs and current awareness tools.

Avalon Project : the Laws of War

Part of the Avalon Project at Yale University Law School, providing free access to treaties and agreements concerned with war. The collection starts with the 1856 Declaration of Paris and goes up to the 1970s; it consists mainly of the Geneva Conventions and documentation from the Hague Conferences of 1899 and 1907. The documents can be browsed chronologically, or searched by key word.
